Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was still locked to the porch last night when I came home and I made sure I locked the porch gate. This morning at 8:00 am, I discovered they were gone. This is just one listing of two bikes that were stolen

Went to go to work and my bike and all its contents (including the lock) were missing. I had it connected to a fence facing the alley but still inside the yard of my building. Someone either left the back fence unlocked or scaled the fence.

Lock was cut with a saw. I don't know anything else other than it was freaking gone when I came out of a shop. There is a special place in hell for these assholes who steal bikes. I wish the cops would try to bust some of these chop shops. If they have balls enough to get a saw out in the middle of the day in the West Loop, that's pretty nuts. I had a bike stolen last summer but they cut through the lock overnight...I don't make that mistake anymore. Guess it doesn't matter if they bust a saw out in the middle of the day. I anticipate the next one I buy will be stolen too :( EVERYONE should buy the 5 year protection plan with their Kryptonite lock. I am sad that I only bought one year & the bike was stolen after 14 months. I know you are going to edit this. Just venting. Thanks for posting!

Bike was hanging from rack in locked and security coded personal garage. No signs of forced entry.

Garage was left open by mistake and when got back the bike was gone.

Bike was in a locked storage room at 4537 N. Paulina St. apartment building. Workers working on the building left 2 front gates unlocked overnight allowing for storage room to be broken into. Bike was not locked to anything in the storage room. Owner lives in the apartment building.

My house was broken into sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. There are two apartments in our stairwell; ours in on the second floor. I had my helmet and lock hanging from my handlebars. The thief left both the lock and a second bike that I had in the stairwell. In the picture it's the bike in the foreground.

Accidentally locked front wheel only to gate. Entire bike except for front wheel was missing.

Cable sawed cleanly. Cabled to a tree on Cortland outside Animale Restaurant 1904 North Western Ave.

Bike is kept in an enclosed back porch on a bike hook. Porch is locked by a single doorknob lock. Door may have been just left open. Thief gained access and removed red Jamis road bike and landlord's bike.

I locked my bike at a rack inside my condominium garage at approximately 12:30 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2016. The bicycle's frame was locked inside the lock loop that the bike rack provided. Through that loop, my helmet was also locked. At 6:50 PM, the bicycle was stolen by a man with a dark-colored goatee wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and a black and orange baseball cap. I discovered that my bike was missing 24 hours after the theft. Finally, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:24 AM, my condo association discovered that its security video footage caught the burglar stealing my bike and helmet on videotape.

On September 20th (time unknown) my tenant reported that my remote controlled overhead garage door was open. I was staying in the suburbs at the time. When I returned on September 25th, I discovered my bike was gone. I had a contractor working at my house that day who had access to the garage to install a light. I have discovered my garage door being open in the past-I have been told that other remotes in the area can open my garage door.

I can't remember if I locked it or not, but I left it in our sunken porch when I got back from groceries Mon night, and when I left about 7:45am Tues morning, it was gone. I can't find a photo of my bike right now, but I do have a short close up video from when I had to replace brakes earlier this year, if anyone's seen it i can verify with that.

I was picking up my daughter from swim practice at northside college prep on n. Kedzie Ave. I ran inside to grab her and made the mistake of leaving the bike unlocked for a few minutes. When i returned it was gone. Taken from the south entrance.

Bike was was locked to rack west of Divy station on Division just west of Ashland. North side of street in front of CVS. No windows on that side of business.

I put my bike on the back porch, came out 10 min later and it was gone.
