Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was missing when i left the house this morning. Deck railing had been disassembled.

The bike was outside of the apartment before the Billy Joel concert. I verified that it was still there and locked at 8 pm. I made dinner at my apartment and once again checked outside around 10 pm to check on the status of the bike and listen to the end of the concert. I assume it was stolen by someone returning from the concert. I woke up at 7 am and saw that my bike was not there, and the Combination Cord Lock was cut and left on the rocks in front of the apartment building.

Bike was in our building storage unit, which was locked. The lock to both the building and storage unit was picked. Two bikes were stolen from our storage unit.

Side entrance door to garage was kicked in and the bike was stolen. Opened the main garage door on the way out.

My bike was in our back yard, in the back outdoor stairwell; not visible from the street. Our property is surrounded by a metal gate, but the front by the street was not locked. Our dog barked; we checked it out and found the front gate wide open and my bike missing from the back yard.

Bike was stolen off third floor balcony. No ladder or stairs to balcony. Entrance from inside home. Home wAs never broken into. Unsure of time Bike in left on picture

Bike was locked to another bike and to wood stairway on second floor of back stairs with cable. The cable must have been cut and the bikes carried down the stairs during the night. We have only lived there 5 days, and we didn't hear anything even though bedroom is right by back stairs.

Bike was left unlocked in the garage, the garage door was unlocked. The thief had stolen 3 bikes from the garage overnight.

Bike was stolen with the U Lock from outside of work during the middle of the day.

Bike was left unlocked on back patio of the Claddagh Ring against the garage stacked behind several other bikes. Patio is fenced and bikes were not visible from street/alley. The bar sponsors a kickball league on Wednesdays, so teams are often hanging out in and outside of the bar for several hours after games. Bike was stolen some time between approx 11 pm and 1 am. Unsure exactly when but bike was taken during the night.

Locked to bicycle rack in front of Resurrection Lutheran Church on 1050 W School St at 7pm. When into church building for 1 hour. Found bike missing around 8pm.

Bike was parked right in front of Swedish Covenant Hospital in their parking garage. Was in there for 2 hours and when came back just the front tire and lock were left sitting there.

I locked the bike up INSIDE the CTA GREENLINE station at 63rd and Halsted, TO THE BIKE RACK. I went grocery shopping and stopped by my brother's condo. When I returned 11PM, the bike and the lock were both missing. There was a blue bike locked up near mine as well as a red vintage bike. The red bike was still there, but the blue bike as well as my own were both gone.

Bike was stolen between 2 and 4 o'clock p.m. I, the owner of the bicycle, was in the library during the time of the incident. In order to make his or her escape unobstructed by any witnesses in close proximity, the bike theft struck in the middle of a heavy rain storm. s

My bike was locked in front of Loyola's Damen Student Center on the North side in the bike racks (Between Damen Building and Mertz Dormitory). I left my bike locked there for about 10 hours, but the last time I checked it was still there (6:30pm). I left it and came back to it at 8:50pm and the bike was stripped of the Crank, Fork, handlebars, and basket. The bike itself was still there (frame wheelset and seat), but the thieves used specialized bike tools to take apart the parts off my bike. I have left my bike in this general area for the past 2 weeks and I have a suspicion someone in the neighborhood has been scoping out my bike. I reported to my campus's PD and gave them a description of the situation. There are some cameras in the area but there I do not know if it could have caught them in the action. They had told me that the kids in the neighborhood have done this type of thefts to other Loyola students. The crank that they stole is an SRAM S100 1.1 Courier 48t 170mm with a black plastic pedal, the fork is an i803 Carbon Leader Fork with stem, the handle bar they stole was a Crew Co Drop bar cut into a bullhorn with red/black camo handlebar tape, and the front basket was a black Wald pizza delivery. The thieves literally only took these parts and left behind the screws and bolts behind.

Bike was parked with bike trailer at Maggie Daley Park at the bike racks at the intersection of S Columbus Drive and Monroe St. We left the locked bike for no more than 30 minutes to find that it had been stolen, along with the trailer.
