Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I left the residence of 1460 W cortez at 12:00 am. I left it in the side door and up the stoors on the landing between the two apartments on the first floor.

I locked up the bike while at the Taylor Street festival. It was locked up on the southwest corner of Taylor/Racine (outside of Papa John's) and was missing later in the evening. I am 100% sure I locked up the bike with a U-Lock that had a combination.

Bike was stolen from my front porch at 1321 north artesian avenue. Man was seen taking my bike after jumping over my front gate. Duplex home. He is a young mid 20's Hispanic male. He has been seen wearing a white tshirt and red shoes. Dark skin Hispanic. The bike was a schwinn beach cruiser womans. Green and white with the word "Suzi" on middle bar stickered on it.

Bike was gone only in backyard for 4 hours

I needed to return a movie to the RedBox, which is located inside the Wal-Greens at the corner of Canal and Roosevelt. I put my bike right in front of the door to this business. I was allowed to see the video, which showed me inside the store for 70 seconds. The bike was taken at the 42 second mark.

i had come out of school to find that my bike had been stolen. i had brought an extra chain lock to secure it because this type of incident had been on going the entire week. Many others at my school had lost their bike. Due to lack of security measures taken nothing is to be done. was told to look for it myself. my school being a charter school we.re a little outdated on security tech. (uno garcia highschool)

Bike was locked to wooden deck railing, next to another bike. Only this bike was stolen, the railing was broken and the U-lock was taken with the bike.

**This bike was stolen at some unknown time between August 11 at 5pm and August 16 at 2pm. Bike and burgundy helmet were locked to each other and to a standard, black city bike rack next to the bus stop at Catalpa and Sheridan in Uptown. This is a sidewalk area directly in front of a parking lot. There is a residential high rise directly across the street. Noticed that on the same bike rack, a blue vintage cruiser was locked, which had a city bike tag on it for it to be picked up. That bike had been locked there for months. Mine was locked there for only 2-4 days. **Please note that the PICTURE is of a very similar model/make/year bike. I do not have a photo of my bike, as I only purchased it in June 2014.

Bike was locked to a fence at foster beach near the lifeguard station and a sidewalk. I was at the beach for about 45 minutes, went to leave and the bike was gone. Talked to two police officers on their bikes and two lifeguards that were sitting outside of the lifeguard station, no one saw anything.

The bike was inside garage and I last remember locking the garage around 10 pm. (I am not totally sure if one of my family members might have accessed the garage and left it open.) I saw the back gate of my yard and garage door were open at around 8am. This seemed unusual to me and I found that the bike (in addition to 3 others--Huffy Calais White; Huffy Calais Black; Yellow Cannondale 1987 road bike) were gone.

I got home from work at 4:30 and went inside. Came out at 5 and bike and bike lock were both gone

I left my bike in the back alley of my workplace by the dumpsters while I went to unlock the front door. Unfortunately I forgot about it when I got caught up with work and left it unattended and unlocked for twenty or so minutes. When I realized it was still outside I went to retrieve the bike and it was gone. The image below is a stock photo of the bike as I do not have a picture of my specific bike.

I went to a Fado's Irish Pub to participate in the running club that meets Thursdays 6:00 PM. I locked my bike across the street, in front of the Maggiano's on Grand Ave. at the corner of Clark St. I left for a run at 6:15 PM and after returning to the same location (outside Fado's on Grand Ave) I waited for the group to return. We went inside for food and drinks around 6:55 - 7:00 PM. I checked on the bike before going inside. When I came back out around 8:00 - 8:15 PM the bike was missing. There was no lock or sign of how the theft went down. I had a weak combo cable lock through the front wheel, frame, and metal upside down "u" shaped bike lock. The bike was curbside. I think that someone cut the lock and rode off or threw it into a pickup. The area was high traffic the whole time I was away from the bike.

Bike was gone. Helmet was present with u-lock thrown alongside the bike on the grass. The lock was cut (not sawed) in two locations, and the bike was missing from the scene.

Men's (black Townie 24) and Ladies bikes were combo cable locked together on first floor metal porch at rear of building (security camera/enclosed fenced parking area--gate was open) off alley running parallel to Redline south of Bryn Mawr stop @ Catalpa. Bikes were stolen between 9 pm Tues. August 13 and 5 pm August 14 2014.

The bike was in the basement. I live in a brownstone and you need keys to get in the yard both gates are locked the doors are all locked to the house. We had a break in. The people broke in through the basement window and stole my bike
