Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked up outside College of Medicine East Tower on UIC's West campus. Bike front tire was removed and left with lock at the scene.

Bike was sitting on deck on the top (3rd) floor apartment. Last seen at 9 pm, was not there at 8 am. (Picture is of bike without rack, black handlebars, or mounted lock)

Someone entered through our apartment window and stole 2 bikes among a few other things.

I have a small closed garage in a mid rise for only a few tenants and the garbage men left the garage door open and someone stole it between 930am-11am. The odd thing is that my parking spot is located at the top of the garage and around the corner. There were other bikes and expensive belongings down below that could have been taken much easier. Two of my bikes were stolen and there are no cameras

I parked my bike at Wellington Station around 8:45 a.m. It was missing when I returned at 6 p.m.

We have video footage from security cameras in our condo building. Bike was not locked as it was stored in the locked, attached garage that can only be accessed with a key or garage door opener. An individual in long sleeve white shirt, white hat and black pants approaches the residential entrance to the condo building at approximately 6AM at all times looking down and away from camera positions and covering their face buy pulling up the front of their shirt. The indiviual accesses the building via unknown means, but the door was not broken or damaged in any way so assuming they used a key they previously had or gained access via the lock box used for real estate agents. Once in the lobby again they continue looking down and away from cameras and proceed directly to the attached residential garage. Unfortunately there are no cameras in the garage, but they can be seen exiting from the rear of the garage on foot running (perhaps they set off a car alarm or were spooked by something else and ran off). Then approximately 5 minutes later they return and re-enter through the garage door that they exited, again based on video footage they appear to be using a key but can't say for certain. They're in the garage for about 1 minute and then leave the garage with the bike.

At 3:19 PM I was coming down the escalator in the Whole Foods at Belmont and Ashland, and through the windows I saw a man lifting my bike in to the back of his white pickup truck. The truck drove north up Ashland, and I chased him on foot. I was wearing clip-in bike shoes and had a heavy backpack, which slowed me down, but I probably couldn't have caught him anyway. The white pickup truck seemed slightly older, I didn't get a good look, maybe 10 years old. The man had dark hair, dark facial hair, he was racial ambiguous, with light brown skin. The bike was locked to a large light pole. A cable lock went around the light pole and front wheel, and a u lock through the frame and rear wheel. It was only locked up for 30 mins. I called 911 to see if a patrol car in the area would keep a look out, but dispatch put me right through to non-emergency.

Bike was stolen out of locked garage overnight. Overhead garage door was found wide open this morning when bike was discovered missing. Garage is off of alley.

Bike was taken between 8:00 pm 9/9 and 7:45 am 9/10 from residential garage. When I went to the garage this morning, the overhead garage door was wide open.

The bike was taken from the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, at the south side of the Life Sciences building. I parked the bike here around 9:50 AM, and by 4:15 PM the bike was gone. The bike lock was missing, which may mean the thief had a master key for the brand. I'm a large person (6'5" tall) and the bike is large as well. Recovery Notes: Recovered. It was at the Swap-O-Rama flea market at 4100 S Ashland Ave. I had given a statement and was going to get a report number today, but we've fortunately resolved the issue. The lights were taken but everything else is still in place.

Unlocked my bike from my friends bike to change his inner tubes, locked my bike back up to the bike rack, went a way for 10-20mins and it was gone.

Just found out that the bike was stolen, not sure when it was taken. Unknown time and date.

Bike was fully removed along with lock. Exact timing of left is unknown.

Stolen from outside the Logan Square Blue Line Station

Bike was locked in the bike corral next to two other bikes at the Morse train station (north entrance). I left the bike at 7pm and got on the train. I got back to the station around 10:30pm Other two bikes were there And mine was totally gone.

Theft occurred sometime between 2pm-6pm. Thief removed bolt from street sign base so it could be lifted out and bike removed without cutting lock.

My bike was secured in my back porch area that has a tall wooden fence and locked door to it
