The bike was locked using a cable lock. I put the lock through both tires, the frame, and the bike rack. The lock was missing from the scene. I checked on the bike at 3, and it was gone when I came back at 4:45. This was next to the BCBS building, at the bike rack at the east entrance to the lobby, which is next to Marianos.

My bicycle was locked to the vertical spindles of the rear porch railing at 2148 N. Halsted with a Kryptonite U-lock and a cable lock. I was out of town between Friday morning 10/12/18 and Sunday evening 10/14/18. When I returned on Sunday the bike and the Kryptonite lock were gone. The cable lock was cut and the top of the railing was removed. My guess is that after the cable lock was cut the top railing was removed and the bike was lifted off the vertical spindles along with the Kryptonite U-lock and carried away.

Our building has a surveillance system which we have reviewed and identified an individual with a blue backpack wearing black clothing breaking through our condo's garage rear door and walking out with two bikes. The theft occurred between 8:20 and 8:30 pm on October 1st, 2018 according to the security camera log. The footage was not clear enough to make out the individual's features. He appears to be a male and he looks like he had an accomplice waiting outside to help handle the two bikes he took.
