Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I was working at SmallBar on Division on Sunday night. Locked up the bike at 530pm. Came back out at 100am. No wheels. The Phil Wood hubs require a 6mm allen wrench to remove the wheels. Someone saw my bike and pulled out there 6mm allen wrench and took my wheels for themselves. These were not scrappers, they know what they took.

Bike was locked with three locks - older u lock, thin cable padlock, and fat chain - through both wheels and frame to bike rack on Ashland under the Clybourn Metra tracks with many others. I locked it at 2:45 and it was gone by 5 when I returned. FYI police officer wrote theft location and my name incorrectly on the report.

Left my bike right in front of a local Starbucks for 4 hours, when I came back to get it, it was gone with the lock.

The bike was taked from my garage sometime last night between the hours of 10 PM and 4AM.

Somebody left the garage door open which leads to a very sketchy alley. Somebody must of seen the bike and rode off with it

Moved into new apartment in building with bike storage room. Needed to take my one lock for the bike I was riding (the one I keep in my apt). Left this one unlocked for all of 24 hours. Gone. Stupid, stupid me. The bike was too big for me. But I want my badger head back!

My bike was parked in my garage. I assume one of my tenants left my garage open on accident and someone must have walked in and taken my bike. If anyone sees this bike, please contact me. Thanks much.

Went out for a morning ride, didn't lock the bike up but put it under stairs. Came back home at 1:30, and bike was gone.

The picture is taken from the website so the fender isn't there but that's a dead on match for my stolen bike. I locked the bike up at night to a no parking sign. I woke up and the sign had been pulled out of the ground. My bike and lock were gone. Any help is appreciated.

My bike was stolen in front of the Atrium on the UIC campus. It was stolen sometime between 8:00pm Saturday night and 1:30am Sunday morning. It was locked to a bike rack with a rather thin, cable combination lock. It was in a well lit area with pedestrian traffic, so I was surprised it was stolen.

The bike was left near the UIC dental school. When going out for lunch, the bike was gone. Locked properly. Has been on that rack before, may have been scoped out.

The bike was left on our back deck, on the third floor of our apartment complex.

Bike stolen from bike rack at Ravenswood station. 15 bikes were locked at the rack, and my bike, possibly with others, was stolen. This must have involved cutting the combination cable lock. This bike rack is in a conspicuous public view so the theft is likely to have been witnessed.

Bike was locked up to bike rack on beach. I was sitting 20 yards away. I believe someone was probably there with a gym bag or backpack that had bolt cutters. cased the me, the situation and the bike rack. When the crowd thinned the probably acted as if it was there bike bent to act like opening the lock, cut it and rode away. There was a guy with long sand light brown hair, white rimmed sunglasses, I believe a white shirt 6 feet or so, who was there most of the time I was. He left before I did...but it could have been anyone. The person who stoled the bike was most likely not wearing bike shoes and may or may not have looked out of place on this bike or had a little harder time riding since the pedals are so small.

I left the bike parked outside of Amundesen school. When, I came to unlock it, I attached the seat bag and then couldn't find my keys. I went back into the school at 3:30 to look for my keys. When I returned at 4:00pm, the bike was gone but my lock with the key in it was on the ground right by where my bike had been. I must have started to unlock the bike and become distracted and thought I'd misplaced the keys and left the keys in the lock. I bet one of the students around bike rack watched me leave the key in the lock and took the bike as soon as I went into the school. The other possiblity is that the keys were in the seat bag, but I remember checking there before I went inside.

This bike was stolen from a storage room in the basement of my apartment. Both doors lock, although apparently there have been a rash of thefts in the same type of rooms lately in the area. The bike was locked to a washtub with metal framework. I hate people sometimes.

This bike was found in my carport on the morning of 8October2008. It is a red Magna Outreach that appears to have been built April 5 1999 (according to the stamp on the crank housing). I left for work on the train last Monday, and when I came back my bike was missing. Also, my lock was gone. The theft could have happened at any time between 8 and 5 pm. (The bike no longer had baskets on the back as in the uploaded photo.)

Bike was hanging in our garage and was stolen while the garage door was open at night. I don't have a pic of the bike so I have attached a stock photo. My bike looks just like this with the addition of the LP Carbon flat bar and LP Carbon Grips bar ends, plus the Selle Italia Flite Saddle.
