Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked in front of the 35th/Archer orange line train station. There are cameras present at the location.

Nothing was left behind at the scene. Apprears to have broken or unlocked the lock.

I left my bike locked to a rack (both U and cable locked) outside the 7-Eleven across from Truman College overnight. I'm aware of the danger present in the area, but I couldn't bring it home that night and it was gone when I came back for it in the morning.

Bike was stolen (by picking lock and removing from rack) from heavy duty bike rack on Wells St. Of the 2 bikes I locked there separately (friend and I were riding and stopped for dinner) using separate locks, this red Trek 850 was stolen and a vintage Schwinn remained locked and unharmed. Cable lock was put through both wheels and the frame before securing to rack.

Stolen off my back deck along with my roommates 55cm black Gary Fisher Triton. 40 minute window between leaving them out on the deck and them being gone.

Stolen off of my back porch in the middle of the evening in Roscoe Village (Addison/Damen). Left bike outside for 40 minutes, it was stolen along with a white Trek 3rd District. It has a brownish-tan Bontrager saddle, white handlebars, an all black frame, and a small "ass-saver" with the acronym "AYHSMB". Pieces of black electric tape cover most of the decals or details of the bike's model (written in grey/silver). Made in America. Thin Bontrager tires. Very light. My conclusion at this time is that it was stolen by dumb local teens. They've been spotted stealing things off of bikes in the neighborhood. **The picture in this report is just from the Internet, not an actual photo of the bike that was stolen.**

The bike was locked in the enclosed area behind my apartment that has two locked security doors on both ends. This is the 2nd bike I have had stolen in the last month from back there. I am very frustrated to say the least.

I road my bike to exercise at XSport-Lakeview, arriving at 6:10; when I finished and came out, the bike, lock and cable were gone. I suspect the cable was cut with chain cutters, and the bike quickly loaded into a truck or van. It was all done in site of people exercising in XSport, so it must have been stolen quickly and deftly

Bike was locked up to the bike rack at the Lincoln Park zoo entrance on Stockton street near the Great Hall/cafe Brauer. The cable was cut and left between the hours of noon and 2pm Saturday.

It was U-locked to a black iron fence. They cut the fence and took the lock and bike. I should not have locked it to something so insecure.

my girlfriends bike was just stolen outside of her work at north and claremont.

Bike was taken from the locked bike room in our Madison Park Apt. Building sometime between June22 and June 28.

BIke was double locked to a solid bike rack. One lock (a cable lock) was cut, and the U-lock that had secured the front wheel was found locked and still attached to the bike rack. This happened on Wacker Drive, one of the busiest roads in Chicago in the middle of the day.

Both the bike and new u-bolt lock were stolen likely overnight. It was attached to two iron fences in an alleyway behind my apartment.

Bike lock was clipped and bike was stolen from bike rack in basement of apartment building.

I rode my bike to work and locked it to the bike rack as usual. There are appoximately 30 bikes locked there on any given day. There were no other reports of bike theft that day. Security camera recorded the theft.

Went to the bar violet hour for a few drinks. We were there for about an hour, then afterwards we walked over to the Flat Iron, walking right by my bike that was still there. Then coming back after about a half hour the bike was gone. The lock and helmet were both completely missing from the scene.

A vintage red Chicago Varsity Schwinn road bike was locked through the front wheel and frame to a street sign on the evening of Monday, June 25. The bike and u-lock are now missing.

My husband saw motion in the back yard; a moment later we realized the garage lights were on. We went out to look and the garage was open. (We'd gotten home a hour before and both remembered closing the garage.) We think someone got into the garage from the back yard, opened the garage door, and rode off on my bike.

Came back from ride at 7p Sunday and put bike in my semi-private garage. (only share with one other unit). Came out at 8a to go to work and bike and black Giro helmet was gone. Garage closed. Nothing else taken including other bike, golf clubs, etc. Have no idea how someone got in and took bike. Maybe neighbor came home late and left door open and closed later. Maybe he took it. Don't know?
