Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

At 835am, I locked my bike to a rack under the bridge at Washington/canal, next to Ogilvie Transportation Center. When I returned at 1pm, it was gone.

Bike was stolen from the back deck of the apartment after one of the other apartment tenants left the gate to the car lot open. Happened in the night while everyone was sleeping. Most likely happened before 3 am. One of my roommates went out for a cigarette at 3 in the morning and noticed the gate was open, but they did not make sure the bike was still there.

Thieves broke inside the garage, they broke my window and took 2 bicycles.

The bike was in a closed garage. it was stolen in the middle of the night. the bike was not locked because it was in a closed garage of a house. single car garage.

Bike was parked in backyard by the front entrance to my coach house at 6:00pm on 10/1. Was missing by 9:00am on 10/2, with the rear gate left open. A red bicycle was left behind a few doors down, presumably used by the perpetrator to get here and then they switched.

a man went into back yard opened side garage door and apparently cut the bolts that attached the bike rack to the wall and proceeded to ride off. His image was caught on neighbors camera.

I locked my bike to a rack in front of an apartment building while I was visiting a friend. The bike was gone when I came outside. I immediately filed a police report. I think the bike was simply cut from the rack because out of all the bikes, it was one of only a few without a U-Lock, and between the bikes with cords it was probably the nicest bike.

I have video of two individuals cutting my lock and taking my bike, helmet, and lock with them. Bike was stolen in wicker park in front of Standard bar and grill at 10:24 pm. Red schwinn fastback with white stripes and white “schwinn” lettering on frame

A couple came cut the chain of my bike off the fence and took the chain with them. A homeless man tried to stop them, caused a scene in the parking lot, then man rode off on my bike and the woman walked away. The woman had a scar on her face and was around 5'2. The man was around 6 ft and maybe 200lbs.

I locked my bike on the rack outside Evanston Whole Foods(right outside main door) at 11am. 3pm I checked it was gone.

Bike was in a secured storage area in a multi-unit apartment building. Door may have been left ajar by residents providing access for outside theft. I was out of town 9/25-9/30, but received an email from building management that a neighbors bike had been stolen from that space on 9/27. I came home to find my bike and my partners bike also had been taken.

They stole two bikes. The green Scott and a bike from our building that is a : the Hudson bike. It is written on the chain cover. This second bike is a city bike. The two guys have been seen by the police on the north of the cambridge street.

BIke was stolen from within my building behind locked door. Likely had to be someone with access to building.

A neighbor possibly left our garage open on Sunday, Sept 20 between the hours of 12 PM and 2 PM. Person entered open garage to gain access to fenced in back yard/driveway and took unlocked white bicycle from under a balcony.

Bike was locked to a bike lock outside Rush university medical center at corner of Harrison and Paulina at 7AM. When went down to ride home at 5PM bike was gone along with lock

Bike was taken sometime between 10pm and 8:30am from back porch of my apartment.

Either happened Sunday evening of September 20th or early morning going into Monday the 21st. I had my bike basically in my possession during the day on Sunday. I came back home around 5pm and left the bike where I usually put it without expecting anything and I went up a flight of stairs into my apartment and carry on with the rest of my evening. I usually bike to work so that following morning once after getting ready to leave my heart drops after finding that not only my new bike missing (the gravity monster fat bike), my older bike as as well as my roommates bike go missing. There was no signs of a break in with the doors but honestly anything could have happened during the time I left the bike in the space that Sunday evening until Monday morning. Im gutted and crushed. I filed the police report that Monday evening after work and as well filed a claim for my lock that carries an anti-theft program.

Exact time is unknown, the bike was locked in our personal garage. The intruder broke into private property and stole 2 bikes from our garage. The bikes were safe and securely locked inside the garage had the door not been broken into.

PASTED FROM LAST POST: A man and woman broke into the back of my building after hopping a fence. It's a self locking door and it's still functioning without much damage, so it looks like our landlord needs to reinforce it. They casually over the course of two trips stole several bikes (will post my partner's) from various tenants in the building. None of us lock our bikes in the storage / laundry room because we have a locked gate as well as locked doors to the building. A neighbor caught them in the act on their second trip and chased one of them to the CVS at Fullerton and Pulaski where they dropped one of the bikes that was retrieved. Will be posting my partner's bike as well with similar description.
