Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Brand new road bike purchased just the day before as a gift. In a rush to bike to work earlier today and cannot say 100% if lock was properly in place. I locked bike through frame and front wheel to isolated bike rack that was in front of hospital entrance. Finished my shift and went outside to find only the lock remaining to the bike rack. This was a wonderful gift bought by my gf for xmas/bday and I was only able to ride it once. If there is any way for this bike to return to me it would mean the world.

My bike was stored in a locked gate back yard under a the porch staircase of the coach house on the property, not visible from outside the yard due to the houses blocking it from both sides of the street and the fences around the yard. Then someone stole it.

The thief unbolted the base of the sign post and slid the locked bike off of the pole.

Bike was stollen from the condo garage, which is a communal garage for 4 units.

Bike was inside a locked entryway on the first floor of the apartment building. The door locks by itself so not sure how it was taken. Last time seen around 12:30pm, realized it was missing at 4pm.

I ran the cable through both wheels and the corner post for the metal fence in front of Golden Nugget Pancake House at Diversey and Pulaski. The restaurant was more busy than normal because it was Thanksgiving Eve. I thought," who would steal a bike here?" So I did not lock up the front or back wheels w/ the 2 U-locks that I had w/ me.

It appears the lock was cut or disabled and removed with the bike entirely. There is no sign of the bike or lock where it was locked up. Talked with building security and there is no security camera on that exposure. Area is high traffic (major metropolitan area with busy bus stop) so I'm not sure how it was made away with.

I locked my bike to a wooden pole that's part of the the fence that runs along my 3rd floor porch. I ran a cable lock around the pole and through the font wheel, then locked the cable to the frame of the bike using a U-lock. I left my apartment on Thursday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday, then noticed it was gone when I got back on Sunday Nov. 29. The bike and both of the locks were gone.

While my husband I and are were away for the Thanksgiving holiday (left Thursday morning around 9:30am and returned at 1:15pm Saturday afternoon), our bikes were removed from the storage area in our apartment building.

Bike was stolen from a condo storage area

The bicycle went missing sometime between Sunday evening (Nov 22nd) and Monday morning (Nov 23rd). The bike was last seen on the patio at approximately 10:30pm on Sunday night. The bike was located on our patio in a multi-unit apartment complex. The building is locked and gated and visitors must be buzzed into the apartment by a tenant. It is possible that someone could have scaled the 10ft+ fence to get the bike, but it seems more likely that someone who had been allowed into the building took it. There are several other bikes kept by other tenants on their patios in the same area.

Came home to find garage door open and bike stolen.

Bike was stolen off our deck, on a gated property.

Kids hanging around the basement of the building. You know the deal, one kid steals stuff from one bike, then other kids steal a whole bike.

Bike was stolen from under the deck stairs of a coach house. Not locked. Stolen between 12:00pm and 1:30

Originally noticed the front wheel and seat were missing. Several days later the entire bike, along with the lock, were gone.

At approximately 230 pm on Thursday 11/12/15, bike was locked outside to a bike rack on the southeast corner of Washington and Clark in the Loop. When I returned at approximately 615 pm, both the bike and lock had been removed.

Bike was locked to the racks outside of the Logan Square blue line stop overnight. Only the front wheel and lock remained. I believe the their had to dismantle the front of the bike to slip it through the lock.
