Bike locked up outside of work to bike rack. Two doormen at Avenue Hotel claimed to see a tall, African American man 'yanking' at the bike about a half hour before I came out of work at 5:30pm. Doormen assumed the bike belonged to the man and thought he forgot his key/combination. The men said he looks like he could have been homeless. Cable lock was at the location where the bike was locked, with the combination parts in pieces on the ground. I was periodically checking on the bike from my office on the 12th floor, at 12-1pm the bike was still where I had left it at 6:30am that morning.

Somewhere between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday, October 24th, my white Giant road bike was stolen. It was U-locked (the front tire was also u-locked to the frame) to a street sign or parking meter sign and the sign was completely screwed out of the ground and in the street when I discovered my bike was missing. I rode this bike across the country, so it has sentimental value to me. Please contact me with any information you might have.

Bought in 2008, this men's small, GT Transeo (1.0) silver framed bike came with a San Marco leather seat (with a tiny tear in the stiching on the butt pad) and had a kick stand on the bottom of the frame. It had some scratches on the frame, especially up on the black handle bars and a bit of rust on the shocks.

She was joined, after a moment, by a Caucasian male who came out of the alley just west of the 810 West Armitage Avenue address. Unlike other people who walk purposefully through the area at that time of day, they were mostly standing around looking. When I left work, next door, at 3:05 p.m., the bicycle and lock were missing.

My apartment manager said there were homeless people in the laundry room and he called the police on them and by the time the police came, they were gone. I suspect that they each stole my bike and my roommate's bike as well.
