Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked my bike to a rack outside Millennium Park near many other bikes. When I left the park a couple hours later, I walked past and saw that the bike was there before walking toward the lake. When I walked back 20 minutes later, my bike was gone. Three or four other bikes were still locked to the bike rack. My helmet also was taken, as I had locked it to the bike.

Bike was locked outside place of business. Building security cameras recorded black male cutting the lock from the bike. Suspect was wearing light colored sneakers, dark denim pants, a light colored long sleeve collared shirt and a dark backpack (the video is in b/w, with grainy imagery, no other specifics can be made). He removes some type of cordless saw from his backpack to cut the lock. Rides off with bike taking the cut lock and cable with him. The only evidence he left... some video footage. The bike was locked with a kryptonite u-lock and kryptonite cable. The cable was ran through the rear wheel and around seat tube, making a loop onto itself. The free end of the cable was locked onto the front wheel with the u-lock and onto the bike rack.

bike was locked every night. By 8 am we try to leave the house to work and the bike was not there anymore. A police report was filed. Report is not here but will place it asap.

My bike was stolen on 7-31-2012 from the bike rack at the East side of 233 N. Michigan Ave. The rack is located at the corner of Stetson and East South WAter sometime between 9am and 12:30 when I came out to get it. They took my bike and my lock.

Bike stolen in OLD TOWN, Chicago. Gary Fisher, camel handlebars and seat, black frame. Brown basket on back with tie dyed straps, brass (japan) bell. The bike was attached to my porch (newer u-lock w/flat key) and the theft broke the porch. Bike lock should still be attached to frame.

Bike was locked up to a wooden pole in the back of my apartment building, had a metal "rope" looped around the back wheel and the frame and then locked the rope to my u-lock, u-lock was around the wooden pole and through the front wheel of the bike. Only the front wheel, u-lock, and cut rope remain at the scene. Someone cut the rope, and un-did the front tire from the rest of the bike so they could steal it.

Left the bike locked and caught the train downtown for work, arrived that evening to find the bike gone. One of two things probably happened, someone got off a train either going to Chicago or further out, stole the bike and got back on another train with the bike, or somone came by dimantled the lock and took it in a truck.

Garage door pried open. The thief even left his own delapidated bike in our garage.

Locked my bike to another bike around a street sign. Frames were locked around the pole, gone in hours, they must of lifted up the street sign.

Last night at 4:20am (right after the rain storm) I heard a man with an electric saw out side by the bikes. I yelled down at him to stop and he yelled back up "hey." I called 911 and they drove by 5 min later, shined a light on the area and kept moving. This morning at 7am when I went out at least 2-3 out of the 6 bikes were missing. I found 4 cut locks total but I believe at least one of them was from a bike that had been stolen a few weeks back.

Bike lock (cable with pad lock)was cut. Bike was locked to a fence along a sidewalk at a park with many other bikes. Sidewalk was hidden behind a parked truck. Occurred during the Taste of Lincoln Avenue Fest between 2 and 4pm on Sunday, 7/29. Lock, cable, and my helmet were left at the scene. Cable was not a super strong cable (which was why my bike was chosen).

About a week ago my headlight went missing while the bike was locked in the same spot it was eventually stolen from. Not sure who might have taken it or when.

Bike was stolen out of my garage.

Was at Wilson Skatepark for a Award ceremony for a skating contest. Put it in a corner of the park with some of my friends belongings. Was unattended for about an hour and when I returned, it was gone. Being the park is on the northside, I would assume it may have been seen on either saturday night and/or sunday easily. The bike also has two dents in the top tube near the seat post, otherwise, it is in perfect condition.

The bike was on a locked porch. Somebody jumped the gate to get the bike out.

Bike was locked up outside. It appears the lock was defeated cleanly and taken away with the bike.

Bolt removed from base of street sign, pole lifted out of the base, bike taken off of pole, pole replaced - not sure if there was even a bolt to start

We had our steel garage service door kicked in around 7:15am by a 15-16 year old (wearing a white tank top and plaid shorts) black kid in the 4300 block of North Keeler. He stole my women's purple and white Scott and rode it right out our front driveway gate. My husband heard him struggling to get the gate open from upstairs in the office and by the time he got down there, the kid was riding off. Another neighbor saw him in the alley while she was out watering, so he was definitely scoping things out on our block. Please keep an eye out for my bike, which I'm sure pretty I'll never see again.
