I last saw the bike at 11 PM on June 21. Was gone at work June 22 and came back that evening at 11 PM and the bike was gone. It is like it disappeared. Nothing was broken and lock was missing along with bike. It was locked up to a copper water pipe attached to the garage. I filed a police report last night but do not have the number.

I searhed for it for a week thinking maybe I had forgotten where I left it but it never turned up. I was shit faced and I have a feeling that the culprit saw me lock my bike up and got to work shortly after I locked my bike up knowing that I would not be back for some time.

Bike was left securely locked along a railing with 2 other bikes (both appearing newer and in good condition). Bike was seen there Friday evening, and was gone by Saturday morning at 10am. Both other bikes locked to the railing were still there and untampered. The cable lock had been cut and left hanging on the railing. Bike lock must have been cut with heavy duty wire cutters and bike stolen late evening/early morning.

This is a 14 speed hybrid performance bike (road + trail, hence the name, Crosstrail). It has a black and dark grey frame with "Specialized" in white letters. The tires are smooth in the middle for road use, but knobby on edges for extra traction around corners. It has shocks in the front. There are some scratches on the frame where the lock bracket slipped up and down. It has a wedge Specialized saddle bag with red pulls on the zippers.

Bike was locked to the bottom of a wooden staircase in inner courtyard of apartment complex. Only residents have access to courtyard. Locked it up after a ride on 6/17, and when I went to go for a ride the following afternoon, it was gone. I live in a garden unit, and when I returned to my unit after noticing the theft, I found a photo of the front of my unit (stuck on the wall) with a handwritten note on the reverse side saying: "I know where you live, pussy. If you think that 'slap' was something, guess again."
