Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I have sincerely no idea how they got my bike. It was locked for a few hours in broad daylight on a Sunday in a residential area. It was a nice day and people were walking by all the time. I locked it with a U-lock through the frame and the back wheel and a cable through the frame and the front wheel. It was one of those things where you do every single thing you are supposed to as far as locking it up, and it wasn't enough. I guess someone was pretty ballsy and sawed the U-lock right out there in the open? I will add a police report number when I have it--they want me to do everything I can to find the serial number before I file a police report, although it is looking like it may not be findable...

Bike was stolen from a condo garage, where it was locked to a bike rack. Thief must have entered the garage from the outside. Brought my bike from Germany with me, it's very rare.

My wife's bike had been found stolen from the bike room at 10 am. I locked the door and left for work. After work, I returned to the bike room to lock my bike more securely, only to find it had since been stolen.

Bike was found stolen from locked bike room at 10am on Tuesday April 3rd. Later in the day, another bike was stolen from the room, and the door was left unlocked.

I was away on spring break when my bike was stolen. Our downstairs neighbors had a very big party and we suspect it might have been stolen at that time since it was not there the next day. My bike was stolen along with my two roommates and next door neighbor's bikes. The bikes were in our basement where many bikes are stored.

I think someone picked the lock,there is a camera in the building which should have captured the incident.

I went inside of my work at Jimmy Jon's to grab more deliveries. I was in there for ten minutes. The bike was unlocked because I thought I would be rite out. When I came out the bike was gone.

Bike was stolen a week after my neighbor's bike was stolen. His bike was next to my bike, which was on the end.

My bike was locked at the main entrance of the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was locked with a u-shape flat key lock made by masterlock. I have the security tape at the zoo. Two light skinned males approached the bike one carrying a bag of tools. One guy went to work on the lock the other guy was a lookout. when the lock was free, one guy left with the bike and the other with the tools. they walked different directions. It took them about 12 mins. to free the lock.

We are visiting Chicago, and were walking around the pier. We came back and our bikes were gone. Taken in broad daylight with plenty of people milling around

Bicycle was locked in front of LVAC around 6pm, and was missing around 7pm. Chain lock must have been cut or picked. Lock is missing along with the bike.

It's just gone. It was brand new. I had saved for it for a year. I can't find it's paperwork.

My bike was inside a locked storage unit, in a locked basement. The storage unit's exterior lock mechanism was bent in order to slide off the padlock on it. Several other storage units had the same damage. We noticed this on the morning of March 27th at about 7:30am. The landlord was on the property until about 10pm the night before, so we assume it occurred after that, although it could've occurred anytime between Sunday and Tuesday morning.

Bike was locked to metal railing and cut free. Thief took bike AND broken lock. No idea how they did it so silently or fast.

Theft occurred around February 28th, but cannot be 100% sure of exact date because of a very busy week (got married the weeke before and was very preoccupied). Fairly sure it happened the day I reported it, as another high-end bike was stolen from the same garage inside a locked storage unit the day before. Most likely a planned theft, as there were multiple unlocked and more easily accessed bikes available but all were of lesser value than my own and the other stolen bike. Called police immediately upon discovering the bike was missing and they came to fill out the report and investigate. The storage locker next to mine was not locked so the thief entered through the adjoining wall by cutting a large hole in the wire mesh between the two units. There were many valuable items in the locker but only the bike was stolen.

I had my black women's trek bicycle...year 2009 I believe. Brown leather seat.

My bike was locked at the Roscoe and Hoyne intersection, right outside the flower shop there. It happened anywhere between 12:15 to 2:30PM. Please respond if you see my bike. Thank you

bike was locked across the street from a restaurant called Big Star. When I returned at 9:00pm to pick up the bike it was gone. The lock was running through the forks and wheel, the their removed the forks and left the bike lock.

I was working and had taken my bike in. I wasn't going to be long so I parked the bike outside to the rack and I made a point to come down every hour or so to check on it. Just as I was coming down to take off for the day I exited the Towers Productions building and turned right and my bike was gone. There was no indication that it had even been there. Security cameras only have a line of sight right in front of the main door to the building and down the alleyway, both of which do not grant access to the bike area.
