Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

This bike and my wife's bike (which I will file a separate report for), which is the same brand but a different color (turquoise) were locked together to a bike rack using a Kryptonite U-lock outside Breakthrough Familyplex at Carroll and Kedzie. According to the staff at Breakthrough there is CCTV footage but they will only release it to the Police. Unfortunately the business was closed and so it is possible someone ground the lock with a grinder without being seen.

Bike was locked in basement of apartment in Rogers Park at roughly 9pm Thurs 9/19 and was noticed missing with lock at 4:30 pm Friday 9/20

My bike, along with another, was locked to the bike rack in front of Quesadilla la reina del sur restaurant - 2235 N Western Ave. It was locked (poorly) with a U-lock and cable. U-lock was attached to my girlfriends bike, so that they were able to cut the cable and take my bike. The thief left a bike in my bike's place, I'd guess as a decoy. We were in the restaurant for maybe 1.5 hours at most, and it happened while we were eating. If the bike that was left is yours - get in touch. It's a Bianchi Avenue.

I leave the bike in our back walkway underneath the stairs every day, making sure the lock is attached correctly. We have a high door to the alleyway, so the individual must have climbed over the door to get into our back porch, then let himself/herself out once unlocking the u-lock.

Walked outside to see my bike missing. Last time seeing it was yesterday 9/19 in the morning.

I either left it out in the back alley way behind the apartments on W Byron and N Sheffield or I left it at the dog park at challenger park. I’m assuming someone just got on it and left.

I put my bike in a bike cage at work and the cage itself was broken into and my bike was stolen. I went in at 230pm and saw my bike was gone at 8pm. My workplace has cameras facing the bike cage and they saw someone leaving with my bike around 530pm.

Bike removed from bike rack in front of Aldi supermarket in Edgewater;

Garage door didn't close. Bike was vulnerable in plain sight unlocked.

The courtyard in my apartment building opens up to a private alley and my bike was hidden and locked in the enclosed courtyard. It was not visible to casual passerbys and there were also 3 other bikes locked in the same courtyard in the exact same manner. I can only imagine that the $900 value of the bike is why mine was the only one stolen. It was stolen sometime between 11:00pm on September 12th and 7:00am on September 13th.

Theft occurred between 9/12/2019 and 9/15/2019

Bikes were permanently stored in shared garage adjacent alley. Neighbor left for work at 6:00a with bikes still in garage. At 11:00a bikes were discovered missing and garage door was wide open.

Bike was locked behind back gated/fenced area to wooden pole. Theft cut cable that locked the bike to the fence.

Bike was locked to wooden stairwell, behind fenced in area. Theft climbed over fence and cut the lock.

Bike stolen from garage at 865 W. Newport Ave. Garage door pulled up. side door lock broken

My work address is 2232 North Clybourn, 5th Floor. Our bikes are regularly parked on the 4th floor. Someone made their way to the 4th floor and stole the bike. None of the bikes are locked since it is indoors and people are regularly present.
