Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I was asleep at the time, but it looks like someone chopped through the wrought-iron fence it was locked to (with a U-lock.) Really cool.

Two bikes were taken from our boiler room, probably by way of doors left open.

The bike and one other were in the boiler room of our condo unit, somehow they got in, probably through doors left open, and stole both bikes.

Bicycles were stored in the public laundry room of our building. They were there sunday morning, gone monday morning.

The bicycle was locked inside my storage room for my building. The room is only accessible through two locked steel doors.

Bike was locked on the back porch of a second floor apartment, through 4 wooden spindles of the porch. The thief used some sort of object to pry the four spindles loose and removed the bike and lock from the porch. The porch overlooks a locked walkway that leads to the garbage disposal...unsure if somebody left the gate open or if the thief scaled the fence. Last time I saw the bike was around 12:30 pm when the apartment was shown to possible new renters, and I showed them the back porch, where I noted that my bike was still intact. I locked my bike up at 8:30 am in front of the business building, to attend a servsafe class. I did not go outside for out first break but a man who was in my class did. He was locked up to the same bike rack. I asked him when I found my bike was missing, if it was still there when he went outside. He said the bike was still there at break (around 10 am) but not there at lunch (around 12:30 pm)

I've stored my bike outside my door for a year. It is in an outdoor hallway that has a locked gate at each end. Usually I lock it to another bike, but I didn't last night. The thief took the time to remove the milk crate and the bungees holding it on, and left them along with the helmet that was in the crate. It was taken between 10pm Saturday night and 5pm Sunday evening. Another bike right next to it was left alone (it was locked to itself).

bike was locked with a U-lock to a "handicapped parking" street sign outside of my apartment building overnight, found it the next day missing. appears that the sign was unbolted, taken out of the ground, and bike slide off of pole:(

I left the bike at a rack on the lake side trail on LSD and Michigan at approximately 5:30 PM returning just after dark at about 9PM to find the lock cut and a stolen bike.

Bike was locked up on a high-traffic part of Western Ave. The bike was unattended for roughly a two hour span. Lock, helmet and bike were all missing, and the no parking sign which is was locked was undamaged.

Bike was left locked to a bike rack at approximately 2:40pm while at the beach (by restroom house just north of North Avenue beach). When I returned to the rack at approximately 4:30pm my bike was gone, without any sign of the lock. My friend's bike was left untouched. The event was immediately reported to police onsite with a notice put on out on the police radio. An officer stated that a bike matching that description was just seen riden by a white male wearing a white tee-shirt, but unfortuantely he was able to get away.

I rode my bike to work and left it inside the back room, near the rear exit. It was there all night, except when I was ready to ride home, it was gone. I had no idea anyone would come inside and take my bike. Unfortunately for me the video surveillance was not recording.

I locked my bike to the front racks at East Bank Club. I came out maybe 6 hours later and the bike was gone. The lock was left. I have absolutely no idea how they got it out, but it is a high trafficked area and it was in broad daylight. It was by no means the "best" bike there and I had a Kryptonite lock on. All I can imagine is that they quickly got through the wheel and disassembled the bike while looking like they belonged in the area. I will offer a substantial reward if anyone can recover it!

bike was stolen from in front of my office by a man with a cordless saw and have him and his parter driving a light blue early 90's Toyota Previa Van with triangle rims. also have picture of him from surviellance video.

locked within 10 feet of freont door at jewel. right in front of people and cameras. my u lock broke so I have been using a thick cable. It was cut. I was in the store for 20 minutes. waiting to see tapes but jewel says they can clearly see entire incident but I cant see. Either way it was stolen at noon on thursday the 24th from Jewel at 3531 n. broadway chicgo, il.

After coming back from work I left my bike locked to itself with a U-lock, under the apartment in the storage area, the next morning it was all gone, someone broke in through the door that it is on the street that is on the side of the building where the garbage is located.

Bike was stolen from the back of my apartment building, the cable that I used to secure it to a metal fence had been slightly worn (purposefully it seems) a few days before.
