Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Middle of day

Bike was stolen from my garage. They also stole my garage door opener from inside my car.

Bike was U-locked to itself (frame to wheel) inside private garage that opens to alleyway. I don't know if garage door was left open or door to garage itself was left open or not. Other residents in the building are usually very good about keeping both closed at all times. No sign of forced entry. Bike was taken from garage sometime between 1030pm on July 31st and 6pm on August 1st.

I and a friend went to the Shrine night club on Friday July 31st at around 11:30pm unfortunately my friend had forgotten her lock so we attempted to lock both front wheels and frames to a street sign this proved to be to much for the my U-lock and so I attempted to just lock my front wheel and her bike after on the west side of the street and went across to the east side and mentioned to the bouncers of the club to "keep an eye on the bikes" when we return a couple ours later there was an SUV obstructing the view from the entrance of the club (and the bouncers) and the bike had been stolen 2 of the remaining wheels spokes had been cut and my friends bike had its front wheel removed but still locked to the street sign

Bike was stored inside the apartment building bike room, accessible only to those with building keys, along with a mountain bike. The front and rear wheels of each bike are locked to the frames with u-locks and then the frames are locked to a metal post with a heavy duty cable. The cable (1/2 inch, braided steel) around the metal post was cut, but only the road bike was stolen. The mountain bike was left in the room with both wheels still locked to the frame, but not the post. The bikes are somewhat hidden and not readily visible for people just walking into the room. Tenants in three different apartment buildings have keys to this room and as I discovered today, New York Deli on the corner of Clark and Oakdale also has access to this room. The bike was discovered missing on Aug. 1 at around 11:15AM, the last time I might have seen it was around monday or tuesday evening on the last week of July. I usually use this bike to commute to work, except that last week of July. As soon as I discovered the bike missing, I called my building manager and filed a police report. I also made flyers and posted them in all the buildings that have access to the room and given copies to nearby bike shops. I've talked to a few neighbors and given them copies of the flyers.

The theft was completed by breaking into my storage locker and removing my bike through the slats.

Lock was cut between 7pm and 11pm on Sat. August 1st. Half the lock was left at the scene. Note. The photo shows the all-black version of this bike

i had it locked up at the Milkwaukee Avenue Arts festival in broad daylight, on a metal street lamp pole. It was today, Sunday, August 2nd at about 3:30 Someone would of had to seen it get taken and maybe not realized it had been stolen.

My lock was either cut or the lock picked, then my bike and lock were taken.

the bike rack was two buildings up from two restaurants, both with outdoor patios (Wells on Wells, and Corcoran's), seems like someone might have seen something going down.

My bike was locked to my Schwinn beater. Both bike were locked together with a newer U-Lock, wheel through frame. The Schwinn was then locked to a banister at the front door INSIDE the lobby of my 3 story walk-up. The thief broke the banister, then must have carried both bikes away since the bikes were locked to each other. The police were alerted and an incident was filed. the theif is going to have a hell of a time removing the lock form the wheels and frames without damaging either or both bikes.

I rode my bike to work and locked it to the bike rack. When I went to ride home after work, my bike was gone.

Bike was left overnight at Innjoy. It was U-locked to a fence through the rear wheel and the frame next to several other bicycles. Front wheel was locked to fence with an independent cable lock. There was no sign of the locks or any damage to the fence. Please call me with any info, there will be a reward if I can find my bike. The lock was locked to the bike rack but bike was gone - lock was untouched.

The bike was locked on the rack on the bike rack at the station. Back from work around 6:30pm it was gone. Only thing left was the lock. Operator at the station mentioned that the bike was not there when she started shift at around 4pm. Bike was locked at around 8:30am in the morning. Lock was a Bulldog Mini, found intact and still locked to rack.

Have a copy of the security video feed of the theft. Person walked up bent over, cut the lock, put on my helmet, put on his backpack, took the bike off the rack, then rode away. Wore similar cargo shorts I wore that day. At first glance thought it could have been myself.

Bike was locked to the chain link fence in the yard in front of my apartment building. I believe someone cut the lock the night of Wednesday, July 29th and tossed the lock in the yard. Nobody from the apartment building saw anyone suspicious during the day or evening. ***Picture of bike is not actual bike, but looks similar. My bike is more blue-grey in color****

Did not see the bike being stolen. Locked the bike up at 5 pm before I started work and came out at 8:30pm to see the bike was stolen. Chicago avenue is a busy street and people were entering and exiting the clinic.

The bike was stolen from the bike rack at 25 E. Washington, Chicago, IL 60602. The padlock was cut and left next to the rack, but the bike and the chain were stolen.
