Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was taken from inside my locked backyard while I was out of town. My neighbor alerted me yesterday that my bike was gone, and my helmet and locks were left on the ground.

Garage door of my apartment has been broken and left open. I believe someone just walked in and found where the bikes were parked. Mine was not locked but someone else’s who’s was, was also stolen.

Bike was locked to rack outside of the Ravenswood Metra station around 8:15am and upon returning around 4:45pm it was gone.

I parked my bike in the usual spot at bike rack in the back/employee entrance to University of Illinois, Chicago hospital in the morning around 6:30AM. When I went back at 5PM, the entire bike and lock were all gone.

I entered Dollar Tree for a moment I viewed the area outside and the bike was gone.

Garage was left open and somebody came and stole the bike.

Bike was stored in my closed garage, attached to my yard with both a locked front and back gate. It was sandwiched between the wall and my partner's bike which was not taken. I found camera footage from the front of our home with the thief leaving, but did not catch footage of anyone entering the property.

Garage was accidentally left open for 20 minutes. Came back home and the bike was gone. Found video footage of the theft after the fact.

My bike was located behind a gated area (gate doesn’t lock) near my apartment complex where another one of my neighbors bike was stolen around the same time.

Between 7p and 9a Oct 3 - 4, my bike was stolen. It was locked to a metal fence. The battery was NOT on the bike when it was stolen. It has distinctive stickers with "solidarity forever" and "never cross a picket line."

Bike was stolen in front of FFC East Lakeview gym (3657 N. Pine Grove) in plain view of camera on 10.2.25 at 2:31pm. GM sent footage which show's thief's face. Happy to share video.

A neighbor in our building noticed someone on the back stairs who proceeded to walk around the parking lot and to the front of the building. I checked on our storage area after returning home from work and my bike was missing.

I was away from my apartment for 3 days, and I left my bike locked up outside (as I usually do). I came home last night and it was gone :(

I rode my bicycle to work on Wednesday October 1, 2025. I locked the bicycle to a metal bike rack right outside my office building, at approximately 221 N. Wells St. in Chicago (my office building is 222 N. LaSalle). The bicycle was locked with a Kryptonite U-lock, and both wheels and frame were secured to the bike rack using a lock and cable. When I left work, the bike and the lock were no longer there. I believe this bicycle theft may have been caught on camera. There is a camera at the corner of Upper Wacker and Wells that should show where my bicycle was locked and who and how/when the theft occurred. There also is a Huntington Bank location at that same street corner, and the bank appears to have multiple cameras looking both inside and outside the bank, so those cameras may also show who and how/when the theft occurred.

Discovered bike was missing from my apartment building's locked laundry/bike room on Friday Sep. 26th at 2pm. Last used on Monday Sep. 22nd at noon. Neighbor had left a note saying their bike was also missing, and neighbor stated they noticed theirs missing on Wednesday Sep 24th (no time specified). Bike storage/laundry is a locked room behind a locked gate, no sign of forced entry. Unable to upload pictures of bike, but will gladly share via email if requested—no full frame pics, but pic 1 is of the Minneapolis sticker, pics 2 & 3 are underneath the frame for the serial number but also show the handlebar style and brake cable color. I went into the dentist near the corner of Washington and Michigan avenue at 3 pm and came out around 4:15 and my bike was gone. It was locked to the bike rack outside the entrance on Washington facing the entrance across the street to the Chicago Cultural Center. It was very busy out and went I discovered the bike was stolen, I saw man carrying 2 bikes with locks attached down into the Millenium Station underground. Neither bike was mine and he was moving slowly. I followed him for a while but didn't feel safe proceeding alone. My assumption was that he was taking those bikes to another location underground where someone else was gathering them.
