Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was brought up to my apartment complex the night before. Left it in the hallway of the stairs like I always do. You need a key to get into the apartment complex. The only people who can enter are my roommates, my upstairs neighbors (who I've been friends with for a long time), and my landlady who lives downstairs. I don't lock my bike when I put it there for the above reasons. Woke up the next morning to find my bike was gone. But my roommates' bikes were all still there.

Bike was stolen from my garage. Looks like someone broke in and that's what they took.

My bike was locked to the railing on my porch (newer U-lock with flat key). One of the railings was removed and the bike was stolen.

The bike was locked across the street from my work in a high traffic area, so they must have defeated the lock quickly and quietly and taken it with.Though there was a long time it was locked up I had walked by and checked on the bike just an hour before I returned to find it stolen, so I think it happened between 11:30pm and 12:30 am

Bike was locked to metal fence in front of apartment.

Someone took my bike from my back porch.

Bike stolen from locked garage for small condo building. Bike taken sometime between 6:00 on April 15th and the morning of April 17th.

I locked my bike up on APril 9, went to get it on April 18 and it was gone. Somewhere in this timeframe a person accessed our locked bike room and stole my bike -- which was locked with a u-lock to a wall mount rack.

Lock was secured to wheel and frame, but there may have been some sort of easy release on the wheels which allowed thief to take without unlocking.

Bike locked outside my apartment on Belden and Cleveland. U lock used on the tire and frame and wire lock around frame and pole. :(

Bike was locked in the basement of our apartment complex. You need to get through 2 doors to get into the basement. You need a key to get through both doors. The bike was locked to a bike rack in the basement. The bike rack was screwed to the concrete floor and the concrete wall. The thief dismantled the end of the bike rack. Ripped the rack out of the wall and the floor and then pulled the rack apart. The bike was locked with a u-lock and a cable lock.

Time of incident is an approximation, it happened sometime overnight. Bike was locked in rear of apartment which is a mudroom/rearstairwell with shared upstares apt. Rear door to alley was forced open. Doorframe was broken and left ajar. Bike, with attached front and rear light, Cloud 9 seat, and Neon Yellow Bern helmet were stolen along with the bike bag behind the seat and its contents (OnGuard U-lock, Halo Belt and pair of gloves) were stolen.

Bike was locked with a new flat key U-lock and cable linking both rims, frame, and seat to the bike rack. Locked at 5:50 pm Saturday evening. Noticed to be missing at 9:15 pm. Bike, lock, and cable are missing.

The bike was parked at 4251 W. Irving Park Rd. in front of the Irving Park YMCA, locked to one of their bike locks. I was in the Y for two hours starting at 10:30 AM on April 20. There's a movie being filmed in the vicinity so all of the parking spaces are filled with movie trucks and sidewalk in the bike are not visible from Irving Park Road

Perpetrator jumped fence and broke into our locked garage where bike was stored.

The bike was locked to a handrail/banister and around the front tire and frame. Right as you walk into our building through the main entrance. I always be use our back door so I didn't notice right away. It wasn't until 8:20 that we got home from the gym that our son told us someone had knocked on our front door. I went to see if a note or something had been left and saw the bike was missing. I went straight outside and bumped into the tenant from the second floor who, coincidently, had gotten her bike stolen in the same fashion 2 weeks ago but hers was on the second floor. She told me my bike had been missing for a few hours. She, in fact, thought I was out riding it cuz she hadn't seen it since it. It looks like they must've cut the lock and taken it with them as the banister is still intact and there is no debris in the area and no lock. No idea as to how they could've gotten into the building as that front door is supposed to be locked, this was the same thing I thought 2 weeks ago when our neighbor's bike was stolen.

was locked outside of roosevelt university 425 s Wabash, i went out around 8 for a cigarette and it was there left around 945 to go get bike and it was gone. security has the tapes, they have it on camera of it happening it was 3 guys.
