I just had all the components replaced (new Shimano Alivio M430-SGS 9-Speed, cassette SRAM 950 11-28T). The tires are in rough shape and have been patched a few times, but otherwised, the bike is in great shape. Unless they have been removed, there is a disconnected computer on the front and back light on the seat. The bike is also missing a reflector on the front wheel as it recently broke off.

I went to a friends house at 3:30 in the morning and left aorund 5:30. I left the bike propped up against the side of her house and went inside. Some time duringy stay the thief must have went into her backyard, walking at least 7 or 8 feet and grabbed my bike. The thing is, the backyard is blocked off by her garage and the place I left my bike isn't visible from the street and the garage keeps the bike out of view so they must have gotten used to me coming over and was spying on me or following me. Theres no other way the thief couldve known my bike was there unless they watched me or followed me or gottem tipped off. Last seen on austin and belmont.

Some time between 6:30pm - 10:00pm at the corner of Wellington, Lincoln and Southport, Someone approached my Specialized Crosstrail locked in front of the Athenaeum Theatre. Here the suspect snapped my cable lock with some sort of heavy duty cable cutters and stole it. The bike was locked through both wheels, the frame and to the bike rack. I discovered this at 10pm after leaving rehearsal. The lock was left behind at the scene of the crime and I have taken the lock for evidence.

Bicycle was in new good condition. The Bike is black with a distinguishing neon green pattern on the cross bar and main support bar. The seat and handlebars are black. The handle bars have black rubber padding with low studs all the way around for grip. The bike has both front and rear breaks at the handles. The bike also has two gears shifters, one at each handlebar that consists of a circle with a tab to pull or pull down for higher or lower gears. There is a plastic guard over the chain side of the bike pedals the extends in a perfect circle only as large as the pedals them selves... There is a brace for a water bottle on the diagonal bar from the pedals to the handle bar that is outfitted to hold a misshapen, bicycle specific water bottle. The tires are thick and treaded as if for a mountain bike. These are all that come to mind right now but I will file another report if or when I think of anything or find the serial No.

It could have happened anytime between Friday Night and Sunday afternoon. Friday Night, the 11th, was the last time I rode the bike. It was locked to a rack outside the building in which I live at 182 W Lake street. I had gone out to dinner saturday night but didn't pay particular attention to whether or not the bike was present when I walked out the front door. Only today when I to ride it did I discover that it was missing from where I locked it up only to be replaced by someone else's bike. I was jumpstarting my car next to the garage and moved my bike near the dumpster and U=locked it to itself. A black male had been smoking in the alley but I didn't think anything of it. I had to keep the car running so didn't want to leave it out of my sight and bring the bike in. As I was driving back from across the street after returning the jumper cables, I saw him riding my bike away from the driveway on Kimball right next to the Armitage produce. I have no idea how he got the lock off, or if I was so distracted by jumping my car I somehow didn't lock my bike.
