Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked with a ulock through the front wheel and frame to a metal railed fence overnight in an enclosed front year. The thief cut the bars of the fence to get to the bike. Bike was most likely still locked to itself when stolen.

I locked it at the provided metal U's at the train station. Upon returning later that day, it was not where I had left it. It was gone with the lock

The neighbor left the garage door up between 1pm and 6pm. When I entered the garage at 7pm I noticed that both bikes were missing and the cable lock was left dangling on the pole.

Our neighbor left the garage door up sometime between 1pm and 6pm. When I went to the garage at 7pm, the garage door was down and I saw that our bikes were gone, the lock left dangling to the post.

My bike was stolen from infront of my apartment in Logan Square. The newer u-lock w/flat key was attached by the top tube to the fence and then fence was smashed at the bottom so that the post could be freed and the bike taken. I'm assuming that the white handlebars/toeclips/tires are probably pretty muddy as my front yard is very wet from the rain.

Rode bike to friend's house at 7:30AM. Locked bike to "Speed Hump Ahead" sign on west side of Campbell 30 feet north of Grace. Also locked front tire to frame with separate lock. Was dog sitting for friend. Came back from dog walk at 3:20PM. Bike was still there. Put dog in house and fed. Came down to move bike a little after 5:00PM bike was gone. U-lock was pried apart and laying in parkway. Sign is directly across from mostly vacant industrial area - WGN STudios, Electric Company, Basic Wire and Cable. So, though residential street not a lot of "eyes" on location. Probably was spotted earlier and came back with tools.

Dont know what to say, left for 20 min locked up bike and gone when I came back.

Locked up my bike after my morning commute to the Ravenswood Metra Station like I do every day but when I stepped off the train at the end of the day it was GONE. It was parked along side the rest of the commuters' bikes on the north side of Lawrence Ave.

Interestingly there were other bikes on rack but they all U-locks. I guess the cable was just cut and taken with the bike.

The bike was behind a locked door inside my apartment building; there were no signs of forced entry, and either someone left both doors open or it was someone with a key. The two bikes next to it were left.

Bike was taken from around late April through May 7. I didn't notice it stolen until it was brought up at a building meeting on May 18th. I know of one other expensive bike being stolen in the same time period.

I'm filing a report on the bike. Bike was in a bike room which a person needed a key to get into the building, into the bike room, then cutters to cut the lock which went through the frame, front wheel and a metal bar 1/2 foot from ceiling in concrete. I've filed with the building as well. Bike was locked in room on 4/4/11 and today 5/23/11 I went back to prepare it for the summer. Gone. I have the coiled lock which they left and will give that to the police as well. The bike is yellow and black. Hope this helps me finding it or makes it more uncomfortable for the slacker who stole it.

We had repeated recent thefts in our parking structure. Allegedly a male and a female would come into our garage, cut the cables and ride off.

The image attached is what the bike looks like, but the wheels are different. They have thick, bladed spokes. I pulled this screenshot from Craiglist because I don't have any other images of my bike.

It was locked with a krypotnite ulock and cable. Was told by panhandler that an older white man cut the cable and stole the bike around 5:30 pm on Monday 5/16. Locked there the morning of the 16th. It was only there about 8 hours. Was locked one block east of LA Fitness on 55 E Randolph. I go there to work out in the morning and the bike rack is just across the street to the east.

This bike was stolen along with my girlfriend's Trek Hybrid bike sometime during the workday. The garages were all closed... and we believe this may have been the work of someone who got their hands on building keys, or possibly an ex-tenant. We do not have a serial number or photo for her bike. I have my serial number, but no photo as I just purchased the bike 5 days prior and had not even installed my accessories yet. This is the second bike I have had stolen out of this garage; however, the last one was left out in the open in the garage. Very possibly someone is scouting our neighborhood for bikes.

My neighbor left the garage open, and the bike was stolen in the time he was gone to the grocery store. Nothing else was touched or taken, including three other bikes.

Bike was locked at the Rogers Park Metra stop using a cable and pad lock. Bike was stolen between 8:20am and 5:59pm (the times of the Metra train into and out of Chicago).
