Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

While people were home at my apartment, hanging out upstairs (we have a duplex), someone entered the lower floor of the apartment, where the door was apparently unlocked. My bike was just in the downstairs living room area, and the thief removed the bike from my apartment. Attached photo shows the bike before I put different handlebars on it. It currently has straight, short bars with blue Oury mountain bike grips. Also, the seat on my bike is different from the photo, but I'm not sure what model seat I had.

I had my garage door open and unattended for, literally, less than 1 minute and there was a gang of guys outside in my alley who must have come in and rode off with my bicycle. They were hanging out across the alley at the Pritzer School on Damen (my garage backs up to the alley that is along the schoolyard of Pritzker). By the time I came out and realized that my bike was missing, I asked some guy in the alley if he saw someone on a bike ride by he said that the guy literally just rode off and turned the corner. I hopped in my car, but couldn't find him. He rode off toward Humboldt Park.

My bike was stolen!

I locked it to a railing across from Duffy's Bar. When I returned later the next day, the barricade was gone, so I assume a city official has my bike. It was securely locked, so it had to have been taken along with the barricade, which was previously chained to a fence.

Bike was locked to railing outside of Crown Hall at The Illinois Institute of Technology main campus (several other bikes were locked to same railing). I was in the building approximately 2.5 hours from 9 am.

Stolen from bike rack inf ront of 77 w wacker between 12-6pm. Reward offered-no questions

Bike was parked in yard unattended for 5 minutes with another bike. Both bikes were stolen. Neighbor saw Blue junker truck pass thru alley near the time it was stolen.

Lock was cut off and taken with bike inside a garage.

Someone left the back parking lot unlocked and someone took 2 of the 4 bikes.

If your road bike with a grey saddle bag was just stolen from the Ogilvie Transportation Center, two middle aged men in a white compact pickup (Ford Ranger?) clipped your lock and were off in 20 seconds. This happened at 3:30 pm and they were headed East on Washington. Maybe it was on camera. Good luck.

Bike was locked to the bike rack between the Logan Square Xsport and the Parking Garage. There was a huge window next to the back rack looking into the child's nursery. The bike lock must have been cut as there was nothing remaining. I was in the gym between 4:45 pm and 6:15 pm.

On Sunday, August 3, 2008 at approximately 7:30 PM I was hit by a vehicle and taken to the hospital via ambulance. I do not know what the police did with my bicycle, but I went to the station and they had no inventory report. Perhaps the paperwork hasn't gotten into the system yet, or perhaps the police left the bike at the scene.

Locked bike (using newer U-lock) frame up to iron fence on the inside of the gate in my front yard at 3:30pm, Aug. 12. The next morning at 8:30am the bike was gone, the lock was still locked to fence.

Bike simply vanished from in front of XSport Lakeview in broad daylight (close to noon ona business day) from in front of the gym's front door, locked to a meter clearly visible from the front desk.

Bike was stolen from garage storage space. At least two other bikes were taken at same time. It's a triathlon bike with an aluminum frame.

Storage space was pried open and bike was taken, along with one other bicycle. Bike was taken sometime between 8:30am and 2:30pm. At least two other bikes were taken from garage at same time.

My bike was stolen in broad daylight at a busy downtown intersection, locked to a bike rack with numerous other bikes. Don't know how the lock was broken because it was missing with the bike, but assume it was cut (cable lock with combination).
