Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bike was in my condo's shared three car garage on friday when I left for work and then gone when I got home that night. Someone must have either slipped in when the garage door was open or come in through the front and noticed that the other garage entrance door wasn't locked properly.

Locked my bike outside Milwaukee and Paulina to bike rack. It was stolen within a 8 hour time frame. Cable was weaved between both wheels and frame was ulocked.

Locked to parking sign with another bike, through wheel and frame. Returned from week long vacation to find both bikes missing.

I was in the kitchen with my mother and sister preping for dinner when we saw two kids (10-12 yr olds) on shitty mountain bikes in our driveway. Our driveway looks like an alley (the city never completed the alley so now its just a really long driveway). Anyways, so we're used to having people accidentally think its an alley. Plus, our street was having a block party. But then, we see them both bolt out with my bike from my garage! One kid ditched his shitty bike for my brand new road bike, like they've done this before. We all go running out the front door. I chased after them into the near park running barefoot. Obviously I couldn't keep up, but watched them leave the park and go west bound on Foster Ave. I continued to run barefoot asking bystanders if they saw two kids with my bike description. One car shop owner said he sees the two kids messing around all the time in the area, but hadn't seen my bike. Ended up driving around Albany Park for an hour and a half asking adults if they had seen my bike. Of course when I get home to want to post on Reddit, but my Internet was down (fuck Comcast)! Its finally working and now I need as many eyes on the look out as possible. Apparently the kids had been stealing food from the block party and a parent asked what one of their names were. He said, "Caden". They were clearly scoping the block and probably thought we were not inside. The kids were about 11-13 years old. Both pretty skinny/scrawny. Caden, the kid who rode off on my bike is black with short hair. The other is Hispanic with long wavy hair.

I left my keys in a hidden location while I went for a run so I could get myself back into the house. When I came back, my keys and my bike (which had been locked with a U-lock) had been taken.

Stolen due to utterly complete lack of security at Jeff Park CTA station. Saw bike listed on Craig's List shortly thereafter, for sale for $300.

Someone came and used and angle grinder to cut my locks and stole my bike

I had my bike locked to a street sign directly in front of the lululemon at the intersection of Dickens/N Halsted. I believe the theif pulled out the street sign to remove the bike while the lock was still attached. Otherwise the lock was cut through.

Bike was on second floor walk up balcony in enclosed backyard. Locked front gate and locked garage enclose area requiring a thief to hop front gate or break into garage.

I locked my bike up outside the Belmont Red Line Friday morning (9/4) along the alley by Leona's. When I came back, I headed straight to a friends house and went to get my bike a little later. When I can back, the bike and the lock were gone.

Bike was accidentally left unlocked in back of my apartment building overnight - went to check on it this morning when I realized and it was gone.

Bike was stolen from internal garage, was locked to wall mount, and missing when arrived back to spot. Bike was older trek hybrid bike.

The bike was locked up for an hour at Ashland and Diversey. When I came out of the apartment my bike was gone..

Lock was smashed with object such as a hammer.

I locked the bike at 12:00pm to go into work across the street, i came out to find my bike missing 9 hours later. i have no idea the time frame it was taken, the front tire and my lock were the only things left.

Left for a bike ride with daughter on different bike and left garage access door open, which I do when we're home. It faces house and we are in and out often. There is no way to tell door is open unless you live immediately next door or are in our yard. Either way, I am an idiot for leaving it open. Bike was leaned up against jeep. They also tried to pry open the jeep glove box

This bike was stolen next to Heritage Bicycles in the alley adjacent to the building the night of September 2, 2015 at approximately 11:30pm. The perpetrator left a Huffy frame with piecemeal parts lying on ground where bike was positioned. I left bike unattended for literally 2-3 minutes as I ran into the store to grab a bag before leaving for the night. This happened after our Wednesday night club ride. We were gathered on the outdoor patio talking and wrapped it up around 11:30pm.

Bike was locked with both a newer ulock and a combination cable lock to a chain link fence. The cable lock was around one of the solid upright poles holding the fence up, going through the frame and front wheel. Due to the location of the pole and size of the ulock, the ulock was only though some of the chain link fencing. Both locks and the bike were gone. They disappeared between 1:30pm and 3:00pm from inside a locked parking lot facing an alley.
