Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike stolen from Truman college (1145 W. Wilson) between 1:45pm and 4:00pm.

Garage Door was opened somehow and the thieves took my bike and 3 others that were in our garage.

Bike was on bike rack behind my condo unit in Ravenwood- was not locked to rack, but in locked private, small building, in a private corner of basement. Bike was stolen sometime in December or January. The only people who have access to the building are the residents, cleaning company, or meter readers.

Locked my bike outside of my apartment overnight. Was probably stolen later in the night/very early morning since I live in a moderately public area.

Stolen from our property, on lower level. Thief went through gate to pass into alley where bike was locked up.

Put my bike in storage room of my building before going out of town for 3 weeks instead of locking it on the street as usual. Came back into town to find bike missing. I've never had a problem before with this storage room- left it there all winter with no theft or reports of theft by other bike owners.

The goons that did this were organized. They stole it from outside the Chicago Board of Trade in broad daylight among a rack of 30+ bicycles, sometime between 5 and 6:30pm. They busted through a hardened steel chain lock. They rode off with bravado. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Biked was locked in my buildings bike room. Bike room must have been broken into & multiple bikes are now missing.

The bike was missing along with the lock. No materials or parts were found near the bike rack where the bike was locked.

My bike was stolen inside our apartment building which has 2 key only entry doors.. and an additional key only entry for the bike storage room. There are security cameras in the building but I"m not sure what the complex will even do for us. I am in the Lakeview Area.

I parked my bike in the loading dock area in the back of BMO Harris Bank as a bank employee. They have outdoor bike racks but the loading dock is covered. It also is a secured area with cameras to both entrances of the dock, and security on hand during the day to pick up deliveries. Vehicles and delivery trucks may impede the cameras view of potential bike thieves. I have been parking my bike there for the last 2 months this summer, every day, from 8:30am to 5pm. I usually lock the frame and my rear wheel with the bike rack. Apparently, today I only locked the wheel, and not the frame, to the bike rack (locked to wheel on the outside of the frame), so they were able to quick release the rear wheel and take the frame along with the front wheel, and leave the rear wheel and lock left on the bike rack. This happened during the day, when security guards were present, however it may have been busy with deliveries so the thief may have gone unnoticed or hard to see by the cameras.

Someone broke into several garages in old town steeling several bikes. Along with this bike should be an old Trek 700 series steel frame modified for a comfort rider.

Someone stole this bike along with several others(also stolen were tools and some appliances) from some garages in OLD TOWN. Along with this bike should be a small PureFix matte black with gold/yellow rims

Bike was locked to the bike parking U Stand across the street from Irazu at 8pm Tuesday Aug 26th. I returned at 11:30pm to a bike with one less saddle and seat post. So if you come across a Brooks B17 Black Saddle (w/ a scuff on the top near the rear) mated to a Thomson Elite 250mm 27.2mm black seat post (w/ NiteRider Cherry Bomb mount) please let me know where you saw it.

Arrived in front of Bethel Church in Garfield Park for a film shoot. Pulled up, and got off the bike, when a friend arrived to drop off some gear. Carried gear to the front door, which was locked, then waited for it to be unlocked while distributing gear. Got distracted by different tasks I had to do to get the day started and left the bike leaning on the fence in front of the church and didn't realize until noon what had happened. By that time, the bike was, of course, gone.

The lock was still in tact and so was the front wheel. I thought I locked it pretty well. Will file police report today.

Three bikes were stolen from a locked garage.
