The only way to get into the back yard, except for the other residents of the three flat apartment, and up the three flights of stairs is through a gate in front of the house.

The things that were stolen have specific features. Stock rims, so Alex G2000. The stickers were removed from the rim. Pieces of black reflective tape on the rim, with Maxxis re-fuse tires (can't remember the size). Flip-flop hub. The fork was stolen, and has a couple of pieces of vertical reflective tape on it that are almost invisible without close inspection. Both the fork and wheel are in average condition.

There is a bicycle storage room inside the building, accessible through the garage. Sometimes the back door is open, so thief must have walked in that way. The bike was locked to the bike rack with a heavy-duty cable lock, and the thief actually removed one of the links on the bike rack to take the bike. So I'm certain they didn't defeat the lock, but rather destroyed a portion of the rack.

My bike was on a rack in a closed garage. There are many other bikes and other people's things in the garage but to the best of our knowledge only my bike was stolen.
