Locked bike, went for lunch coffee, came back, bike gone

The bike was u-locked to a sunk pole in a wrought iron fence. The other bars in the fence connected to the sunk pole with 4 cross bars, two up top and two at the bottom. The thieves cut through the connecting cross bars up top, two on each side of the pole, and bent the fence back. This allowed them to lift the u-lock up and over the pole, as the cross bars no longer stopped the u-lock from going up.

Ride by bike to work every day, all year round. Usually lock it to one of the three u-bike racks in front of the hospital. Both wheels are secured with a Zefal skewer lock, seat is bolted. When I left work at 5pm and walked out to the bike rack, the entire bike and the kryponite u-lock with which the bike was locked were missing from the rack. Another bike that I see every now and then was locked to spot I had used in the morning which leads me to think the theft took place in the morning hours. Shook the rack and it was mostly intact, a little loose. I really have no idea how the bike was taken from this u-bike rack.

Bike was locked to a sign through both wheels and the frame for about 4 hours when it was discovered stolen. I'm bummed.

Between noon and 3:45 PM on Wednesday April 18th, my apartment was broken into and along with other things my bike was stolen. I have filed a police report but I don't have the report number at the time of filling out this description, if you have any information please call me.

I was at soccer practice on the turf field at Montrose and Lake Shore Drive. My bicycle was in a heap of 5 or so bicycles on the south goal side, and someone came up and rode off on my bicycle, noted too late to catch.

The bike was stolen out of my storage unit. Someone in my building probably left our garage door open and the storage door must not have been closed properly.

The bike is stored in my storage unit inside a garage. The door to the storage unit was not fully closed, but the lock was locked. Someone in my building probably left garage door open.

It was stolen from the underground garage in my apartment building. I had it secured to a post with a cable and lock. They just cut the cable and goodbye. I will never use a cable again! I believe someone left the garage door open or the thief just walked in behind someone that was walking into the building and went downstairs to the garage to take a bike of his choice, which was mine.

someone was able to get into basement probably late at night or early am with some type of bolt cutters or saw. Probably walked in behind someone to get into building. Cut u-lock and rode off. This is not the first time a bike has been stolen from building. We are going thru videotapes now to see if they can get a picture of person.

Bike was locked (front wheel and frame)[newer U-lock w/flat key] to metal railing within gated porch area in front of apartment. Possible that gate was left open as it's shared with the other apartments. Metal bars that it was affixed to broken, either cut or simply pryed to breaking (approx. 0.5" thick bars, not hollow).

My roommate left the garage door open overnight, and three bikes were taken from the garage overnight.

Stolen from the back alley of our apartment building. Was locked to a wooden railing... thief pulled off the post to which the bicycle was locked. U-lock would be around the bottom section of the frame.

The door was kicked and the bike was stolen.

Locked the bike with a Kryptonite U-lock through the rear wheel, frame, and around a stop sign post at about 9pm on Thursday, April 14th. I ensured the sign post was not removable, as I park there regularly. I also had a cable running through the front wheel to the lock. When I returned to the bike the next morning the bike, lock, and cable were entirely gone. It's at the corner residential of Webster and Fremont in Lincoln Park, which while it isn't a busy corner overnight, should have some traffic down Webster here and there. Either the lock picked, sawed off (I don't think too likely), or I absentmindedly didn't lock it around the post. I ride daily and have had a bike stolen once before so I'm pretty strict about guarding against this possibility.

I left the area around 4:00pm the bike was still locked to the rack. I think someone stood there acting like, they were unlocking my bike and snapped the cable rode off with my bike. It' a possibilty the bike is in a flea market.

went inside to get cup of coffee and bike was taken immediately.

Left for work at 11:30am on Thursday, 4/14, and returned home at 6pm that evening - the bike had been stolen. I live in the coach house and the bike was locked up right outside my front door - so someone knew what they were coming for and left my neighbor's locked bike in the yard undisturbed.

I rode my bike to run the Shamrock Shuffle and when I went to go home, it was gone.
