Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

They ripped the bike from the railing, taking a post from our railing with it. U lock was taken with bike, although I am sure they disposed of it.

Locked bike at 12 pm. Came back from work at 9:30 and bike was gone. Was not thinking and put lock through the tire and fork to the bike rack. Front tire was detached and that was that.

Railing to wooden porch on second story of the back of my apartment building was removed and bike and locks taken.

Had it in my back porch seems they got in from the rear and took it, I had 2 bikes including the NEXT bike they decided to take that one instead. All black Says NEXT.

The bike was on my 2nd floor back porch locked to the metal porch using a heavy duty bicycle chain. The porch area is only accessible thru a garage entrance in the rear of the building via the alleyway and is locked with a security code or thru a locked gate around the front of the building on Augusta Ave. The thief must have either known the code to the garage or climbed over the gate. They cut thru the lock and stole the bike off the porch leaving behind 2 other bikes (1 has a top of the line Kryptonite U-Lock and the other bike is worthless). The theft occurred sometime between Friday morning and Sunday night. My roommates and I were all out of town during this time period.

Bike was absentmindedly left unlocked in backyard of 5331 N. Bernard St, 60625 approx. noon on Sat Aug. 15. I went to work that night and in the afternoon of Aug. 16, did not realize the bike was missing until 6 p.m. Sunday. Bike was not visible from street, but thief entered through the single gateway, apparently left the same way, out to street. Found my Kryptonite u-bolt lock on the sidewalk alongside house. Lock had been hanging on the handlebars, locked, the place I put (it) while riding. Reported to 17th Dist. police (311), and told staff at the bike shop at Bryn Mawr/Western about the theft, just in case thief might try to sell it there.

Early morning, bike was stolen outside of my place of residence at Armitage & Kedzie . Piece of the Kryptonite U-lock was left at the scene. Bike was left outside for only a few hours during a thunderstorm.

Masi bike locked through front tire to rack. Back stolen. Back is a bolt, not quick release so someone had a wrench and removed chain, cog. Brand new continental tire stolen with Brev wheel.

The bike was locked outside of Union Station in Chicago, and I think it was either stolen when it was left overnight or the police took it. Since it was only there for a few nights, it makes more sense that it was stolen.

Bike was gone as of Aug 17 around 6 p.m. from back yard. Could have been stolen anytime from evening of August 15 to Aug 17 6:00pm.

Front door of building was broken into and railing that the bike was chained to was broken

Someone came into our locked and gated side/rear entryway cut the bike loose and stole it.

Bike was left at home during the day. Came home from work and bike was gone.

Came home and bike was gone. Lock was intact and undamaged and remained locked to the fence. I cannot explain how they did it without cutting through the frame of my bike.

I teach during the day and I was inside the church teaching from 9am to 4pm. When I came outside to get my bike and go home, my bike was gone and the lock was left at the scene.

Bike was locked at Hollywood Beach.I went down to the water and when I came back the bike was gone.

The bike was locked up outside the CBOT building overnight.

Went out of building this mornin to go to work, saw that bike was missing. Ulock is still in tact but my extra cable lock that went on front wheel was cut. Two other bikes locked to fence are still there.

The bike was located in our garage. The garage door did not fully close after we left with the car in the evening and left the car in the street when coming back home. The next morning we discovered the bike missing.
