Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike locked to outside rack next to CTA Belmont station, missing along with lock. Bike rack was not compromised.

Bike was locked in bike room at 5419 South Harper Ave, Chicago, IL 60615 (Campus Court Apartments). Went to the bike room to get the bike and found the bike room door busted open and the doors leading to the outside of the building left open. Followed the open doors to the apartment gates which were also left open. Went back to confirm the bike was missing and only found the cut lock still hanging from the wall rack.

I left my bike on my back porch on the evening of July 21. The following morning, it was missing. The back area of the apartment complex is secured by a locked door that leads to the alley. It appears likely another tenant took the bike, or someone broke into the back area and took it from my back deck.

Returned from trip to find bikes missing from basement of condo buildings. Other bikes still present. Door and gate both locked, no sign of forced entry. Someone must've left doors open at some point in preceding week.

Bike was locked to the bike rack out front of a closed bar. Very rainy night, didn't ride it home. The u-lock was cut with an angle grinder or similar tool and left at the scene. Had to have happened between 4am and 9am this morning.

I locked up my bike around Noon, I worked for a few hours before noticing it was gone.

Bike was stolen off third story balcony behind apartment sometime between 7/20 and 7/21.

Last seen July 17 in the evening, noticed it was gone on July 21 at 8am. It's a crapshoot between there.

Happened between 11 AM (when I locked the bike up) and 8 PM (when I came back to retrieve the bike). The bike was locked to a bike rack outside of the Logan Square Blue Line Station.

Bike was locked to the fence in the front of my house, someone cut the fence to gain access to the bike. [Admin note-- on October 2 2020 the victim write to us to tell us that the bike had been found but was unwilling to share details of the recovery.]

One of two bikes stolen on the same night, the bike was handing on the wall of my garage that is on an alley. I accidentally left the side door open and the bike was stolen.

The lock was a combination of cable and newer u-lock. The cable went through the front tire, around a tree, and through the frame. It was connected to the u-lock which went through the back tire and frame. When I went outside only a portion of the cable was left. It appears that the cable was burned through and the thief took the bike elsewhere to remove the lock from the rear tire.

The bike was hanging on my garage wall and I failed to lock the garage that night. Someone went into my garage and stole the bike from where it was hanging on the wall.

I left my bicycle in an enclosed shared garage and it was locked to itself. The bicycle was taken from the garage.

Part of a string of stolen bikes from the bike storage room at 1000 south clark building. It is believed that the offender has been arrested: Justin Milo is accused of multiple bike thefts (however that didn't bring my bike back).

Bike was gone when I came back from to the rack at 6:45 PM; it was locked to the rack at 9.30 AM at the Orleans exit of Merchandise Mart (downtown Chicago).
