Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The front wheel of the bike was removed to free the bike from the lock and frame. The bike was locked to a bike rack within a gated back porch of a condo building. 2-3 other bikes from the condo were also stolen, and another bike had its wheel removed.

Bike was locked in a storage type area in the basement of my apartment building. The basement can only be opened from outside of the building. I last saw it at about 11:30pm Thursday night or 12am Friday morning. It could have been taken anytime between then and August 6th and 5pm

Bike stolen from garage during block party.

We last saw our bikes at 6pm on 8/5/17. They were inside our locked common area and we know all of the residents of the building well so they were definitely stolen from an unknown outside party. They were discovered missing at 8am on 8/6/17 and police report was promptly filed. The theory is that the back door did not latch all the way when it was last closed and the thief(s) came through the neighborhood testing every door until they found one open. Missing are two bikes (this Schwinn Voyageur and a 2016 Fuji Sportif) and a Bern Allston helmet.

I biked home Thursday evening and brought my bike up to the second floor porch, locked it to itself and went to bed. I woke up the next morning, excited to ride it and it was gone. My room mates bike was still there. Both bikes were locked to its self.

I locked the bike to a solid-feeling U-rack at the SW corner of Erie & Franklin in Chicago at 6:30pm on Friday, Aug 4th. I locked it with my helmet through the main frame triangle. I returned at 8:00pm and found the bike missing. I saw no signs of cutting or my lock anywhere.

Bike was in the back yard of a house under stairs, not visible from the street. Stolen August 2nd or 3rd.

Bike was stolen from locked storage room.

Bikes were stored below our deck. Thieves jumped our neighbors fence to get to our parking area, they took 4 bikes, but one was left behind in the grass. My bike had a U lock around the frame, that unfortunately couldn't reach a solid object to lock to.

Bike vanished! No trace of lock or the bike. Bike was stolen at bike rack across the street from a small cheval in bucktown, in front of Corepower Yoga.

I locked my bike to the clybourn metra's bike rack at 5pm, returned at 6 am and found the lock cut and the bike stolen. It is a black giant escape 2 bike with a bfs sticker near the rear tire.

Bike was locked up the afternoon of Sunday, July 30th at around 2pm. Bike was found gone at around 11am on Monday, July 31st.

My landlord reports that the bike was present betwen 5 and 6 pm in the garage, but he heard some buzzing. Supposedly, the thief must have jumped over the fenced portion of our garage, lifted over the bike and jumped out. He must have hit the landlord's buzzer around that time, setting it off.

Locked in the alleyway of my new house around 10:30 pm, gone by 5 am the next morning. It was locked to the foundation of the house with a Doberman coiled lock. Must've been cut with garden shears or something. Stolen from Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village. This bike has been in my family for 20 years! Seat is different than the one pictured.

When walking past the bike rack that my bike was located on I saw that my bike, which I had parked and locked up on the rack, was gone along with the lock that it was attached to. I had last rode this bike three weeks prior so I am not sure the exact day the bike was stolen. This bike has great sentimental value to my family as it was my aunt's that had passed away 20 years ago. It was recently updated with new seat, lights, and bracket for a basket as well as adorned a 175 E. Delaware sticker on the front metal case, my previous residence.
