My building is constantly under construction and the workers do not maintain any level of security; today they were painting my door, the hallway floor, and stairs. I had a very narrow space to walk and it did not allow me to carry my bike up to my apartment before I had to leave for work at 4:30pm. I had my bike locked to wooden stair banister, while the paint dried. This is located in a small space, below street level hidden by fences and buildings--IT IS NOT VISIBLE FROM THE STREET! I returned home to an open gate leading to my bike at about 10:00pm to find my bike was missing and the banister was broken. I find it hard to believe someone walked in the backyard from the street to just "FIND" my bike. The workers have access 24/7 and are the only ones beside my couple of neighbors would would have known it was there.

Blue/white Some scratches on the side, full shimano 105 8 speed groupset, checkered tape on the left drop and on the top of the bar as well. Rear tire is a continental supersport recently changed during the fall and the front wheel is a specialized swiss tire with no tread and very worn. The rims on the front were black and had around 30 spokes while the rear was stainless steel and had 32 spokes. The rear wheel also had a spot of red spraypaint between two spokes. The fork was also black and has some minor scratches. The bike doesn't have aero bars anymore either (as was shown in the picture before the fork and front wheel changes and removal of the aero bars)

Bike was locked on UIC's (university of Illinois at Chicago) campus on the eastern front of University Hall on a bike rack facing west. It was taken between 9:00 A.M. and 6:00P.M on Tuesday April 8th. The bike was locked with a Kryptonite U-lock through the front wheel and frame plus a cable that locked up the back wheel as well. Someone needed to spend sometime to get it off.

Bad neighborhood, and I got nervous when people nearby started to notice my situation and felt I needed to get out of there. Called 911, but had fled the scene before help arrived.
