Bike is in almost perfect condition. Is orange with blue lettering. It's an aluminum allow frame -- only weighs about 15 pounds. It has a brown and black leather seat. 6 inch handle bar extensions. front fender is attached but broken off at about the front wheel. Tires say scratch (front) and sniff (back) on them. This bike is 15 years old but I've taken great care of it -- if you see this bike -- it is mine! The chance of someone else riding this exact bike is zero.

Bike was left locked to a bike rack with many other bikes. The rack is right outside Mertz Hall on the Lakeshore Campus of Loyola University Chicago. While I was at work that evening, someone probably cut the combination cord lock and took the bike. The coloring and shape draws the eye and the bike is less than a year old and very clean.

Two "shield-like" stickers on the down tube, one of them says "Ostfriesland" the other "Esens-Bensersiel." Couple of scratches on the left side of the middle of the frame. I have just finished overhauling it so it's very very clean and shiny, all new lube. I switched the clip-in pedals with plain platform pedals. The cable housing is red (it's usually black on that model) and I have removed the front derailleur and its cable and cable housing, that means its missing the red cable housing from the left brifter. The uploaded picture is not of my bike, but it's exactly like my bike without the features I described here.

I came home in the morning and was in the garage along with my neighbor who I share the garage with. He was going to leave so I didn't wait for him to close the door, I thought he was going to do it. Later I found out he didn't close it and the garage door had been left open from about 8:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. I came home in the evening and noticed my bike was not in the garage. Later I asked my neighbor if he left the door open.

The bicycle thief broke the kryptonite lock (newer u-lock w/flat key) and the iron fence the bike was attached to, in addition to cutting the fence with a hacksaw (although he didn't cut all the way through). The bike was also on the inside of the fence, so the thief must of had to either lift the bike over the 5.5 foot fence, or walk it out of the enclosed fence. The bike was stolen in front of my 2 flat apartment on Friday the 13th, sometime in the evening.
