Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was taken from my basement storage/laundry room.

The bike was locked to a tree outside of the Starbucks overnight. The locking methods are difficult to recall.

A white Cannondale aluminum road bike, felt handlebars, white and black fizik wraps, black rack with a white steel basket, black gel Selle saddle, skewers through the wheels was stolen on June 9, 2011 between 1:OO p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from the corner of Jackson and Clark. Police Report No. HT339041. Please assist, if you can in retrieving the bike. The frame has several light scratches on the top bar, in the middle of the bar on the left hand side...shimano gray steel alloy flat pedals...

Bike was in a locked garaged shared by condo owners. Either broke in when the deadbolt was not locked or another owner left the door open. Bike was removed from hanging hook and discovered missing up to 1 week later

My bike was locked to a bike rack at school and while I was studying in the library I believe my lock was cut and my bike taken.

Bike was stolen was from enclosed garage area in multi-tenant condo building likely because another tenant accidentally left the garage door(s) open.

I left my bike locked outside the Tech building at Northwestern University at 6:30pm. The frame and front wheel were locked by cable lock to a bike rack. When I left the building around 8pm, the bike and lock were gone.

The picture above is not the exact bike but other than the disc brakes and suspension fork, mine looks just like this. I rode the bike to the train for work and locked it up on the bike rack. Lock was through both tires and frame, locked to the bike rack. When I arrive back at the train station at 5pm, my bike was gone. I always made a point not to park my bike in the same spot, no did I ride it every day.

It was stolen in broad daylight near a very busy location, Halsted and Belmont in the middle of the day.

Locked up my bike before work right in front of the hospital and when I came out it was gone. Guessing the lock was cut and bike was stolen in a busy area during the day.

I had my bike on my back deck and forgot to put it in storage before leaving for work this morning. I came home and it was gone. It was last seen at 8am and was gone by 430 pm. Somebody had to walk onto the property, up onto my deck and either walked it out the front gate or out the back gate of the property. The image is an older one of my bike. It had white velocity deep Vs laved to black Milwaukee Bicycle Company hubs now.

My bike was locked in the backyard shed for the winter. When I went to get it out for the summer a week ago I found that the hardware was ripped out of the door and my bike was missing from inside. Nothing else was stolen, even though there were lawn tools and other (much older) bikes inside as well. A neighbor apparently noticed the shed door swinging open sometime in the middle of winter, but it must have blown shut again before I noticed. The date posted in this report is the day I found that my bike was gone.

I rode my bike to see a 1040am movie on 6/4 at the AMC river east 21 theater. The bike racks by the front door of the theater were full (just a few steps to the right of the front door), so I locked my bike to the fence of the flower bed right next to the bike rack. Upon returning to the location after the movie, my bike was gone..the cut krytonite u lock was left behind.

I think they some how unlocked my bike or cut the u lock and then took it and disposed of it.

The cast iron fence was sawed and bent. Clearly the perp could not compromise the newer u-lock with a flat key. Due to the strength of the fence, I would estimate this process probably took around an hour and that they had scouted out the bike previously to bring necessary tools.

The garage in my building is a "secured" location, but it is my suspicion that the thief walked in behind a car leaving the shared garage. It was there at 11:30am when I left to fill the tires in my wife's bike. When she returned from her journey at around 1:30, mine was gone. I'm so dumb for not locking it. That mistake will never be made by me again.

Bike stolen from garage with my other bike, a Green Schwinn Varsity (also posted on this page.) Bike looks similar to the picture except no light or reflectors. Is blue, not the color of the photo. Bike also has blue handles.

Garage was left open due to garage door malfunction. Bike stolen out of it.
