Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bike was in the garage this morning and last seen at noon, we checked at 2;30 to use it and it was gone. They left two other vintage cruise bikes but took the Pista. It was painted so im not sure if they can tell what it is.

Bike was locked and left between 930 and 1100 pm. Took the dog outside and saw it was gone. Cable lock was cut!

Bike was left securely locked along a railing with 2 other bikes (both appearing newer and in good condition). Bike was seen there Friday evening, and was gone by Saturday morning at 10am. Both other bikes locked to the railing were still there and untampered. The cable lock had been cut and left hanging on the railing. Bike lock must have been cut with heavy duty wire cutters and bike stolen late evening/early morning.

The bike was under my back porch, I was outside for the majority of the time. Went inside for 5 minutes. Looked outside and saw a guy (30ish) in a puerto rican hat on my bike going out the back gate of my backyard. We chased after him for a bit. Seemed like he was going towards Humboldt Park.

The metal bar that the bike was locked to was burnt or soldered through. Locked with a newer u-lock w/flat key.

My bike was stolen right in front of my office during business hours. The lock was cut and left on the bike rack, along with my helmet.

My husband returned from work around 4am on 6/21/11. He saw the bike, which was locked by the frame and basket handle to a wooden post inside the locked gate of the alley behind our apartment. I went outside to hop on it about 2pm later the same day, and it was gone, along with my husbands gray Schwinn Tourist hybrid bike. Filed police report.

The bike would had to have been walked or driven somewhere. The front tire was completely flat.

Bike was locked up in front of residence as I entered the building. I went into conduct some errands, and came out 4 hours later and bike was not present, nor lock.

After locking my bike to the bike rack with my cable lock, I walked into the Chicago Diner at 6:40pm. When returning to get my bike at 8:05pm, the bike was missing and the cut-lock remained.

Lock was clipped in broad daylight on the East side (Maple St) of the Evanston McGaw YMCA around the corner from the Evanston Police Station.

Bike was locked to the bottom of a wooden staircase in inner courtyard of apartment complex. Only residents have access to courtyard. Locked it up after a ride on 6/17, and when I went to go for a ride the following afternoon, it was gone. I live in a garden unit, and when I returned to my unit after noticing the theft, I found a photo of the front of my unit (stuck on the wall) with a handwritten note on the reverse side saying: "I know where you live, pussy. If you think that 'slap' was something, guess again."

Thief broke into garage and stole this bike. This is a unique kids road racing bike. My daughter races for Half Acre Cycling

It was parked outside office building as usual but I left it overnight. I guess it was bad idea to leave it overnight with cable lock.

Bike was secured to a bike rack around 9:05pm. There were many bikes present there. After watching a movie at the Century Mall the bike was no longer there around 11:50pm.

Left it unlocked outside of the Walgreens to go get a drink (stupid). Came back and it was gone.

i have no idea what happened to my bike. it was locked to the same bike rack i lock it to every other day with the same 2 bikes parked there every morning.

Locked bike up in afternoon on way to work, gone when I got off work. Cable with key lock, the plastic around lock mechanism was cracked, didn't think this was a concern, maybe it was..

Got home from work at about 11 last night, didn't notice it missing from the bike rack until 8 pm this evening

Apartment has a key-locked fence around property, basement is also key-locked. I heard fence rattling around 2:30am, so I believe the thieves scaled the fence, forced open the basement door, and then stole the bike from my storage unit. Several other units were broken into as well.
