It was gone. Just gone.

The overhead door was open. The police said people come down alleys with an array of garage door openers. They keep clicking until a garage door opens. A second bike was also stolen. I'll report it separately.

Lock probably cut shortly after bike was parked at 9AM. Went out to get it at 5PM, but found it missing along with lock. Parked in open area with heavy pedestrian & other traffic near train & bus stop and several businesses.

NOTE: The uploaded photo is not my bike. It is the same type of frame, but mine is taller, has no gears, and has bullhorn handlebars with black and white grip tape, and black rims. I work at small bar Logan and had my bike locked up, had to drive my girlfriend home in her car, and did not return to get my bike until the morning of Dec.9. There was no lock left, and no sign of the bike.

Bike was locked to bike rack at side entrance to my apartment building. I placed it there the evening of Aug 26th and when I went to use it the following day it and the lock were missing!

Bike was there at 1:00, gone at 5:15. No sign it was ever there.

I left it in front of the Dominick's and hopped onto the purple line for a quick jaunt to and from Evanston. Locked up at 2:15 and returned at 6:45 to find it gone without a trace. Noone around including a Streetwise vendor who had been there the half of the time or the employees at Dominicks, knew anything about it. So so so sad. I assume it was taken earlier than later, but I can't be sure, and also not quite sure how the lock was broken without leaving any pieces behind.

I rode the bike to the Ashland stop of the Green Line. I locked the bike to the bike rack immediately next to the bus stop for the Southbound Ashland bus (#9 and X9), and right in front of The Women's Treatment Center, a spot where there is alot of pedestrian traffic during the day. It was taken at some point when I was at work. When I returned to retrieve the bike after work, the lock had been cut through and left behind.

The bike was locked to a bike rack. A power tool was used to cut through a Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 U-Lock.

Bike discovered stolen at 8:20 p.m. on Thanksgiving day, November 26th, 2009.

Don't make my mistake... Lock your garage well, and keep u-locks at least around the wheels of bikes to make them harder to carry away. Another, nicer, bike in the garage was passed by just because it had a lock on the back wheel. I also wish I had written down the serial number, doh!

Bike was stolen Saturday, November 21st from a locked storage/laundry room shared by tenants of an apartment building in Ravenswood/Uptown. The theft coincided with a tenant moving out.

Bike was stolen Saturday, November 21st between 1 and 7 pm from a locked storage/laundry laundry shared by apt. building tenants in Uptown/Ravenswood. The bike went missing around the time that a tenant was moving out. Could be a coincidence, but seems a little suspicious. (The picture shown is of the same make and model of as my bike, but not my actual bike.)

The bike was locked to a rack outside of my workplace just off of Halsted street on Van Buren. It was locked though the back wheel and frame using an On Guard U lock, as well as the front wheel using a cable.

I left the bike in the same place I have been for months. Noticed it was gone when I was out getting lunch. It had only been there for 3 hours or so. I locked the back wheel and frame to the pole and another lock through my front wheel and frame. The lock was sliced through, like using an angular grinder, not bolt cutters or a hacksaw. There is usually a lot of foot traffic there, so it happened quick. They were nice enough to leave the lock... The front lock was nowhere to be seen, so they probably didn't ride off with it.

Locked to a bike rack outside of a residential high rise at 6PM. One or 2 other bikes on rack. In morning at 8AM, bike was gone with no signs of any damage to the rack.

Bike has been in my detached garage. Garage was locked, but thieves broke into my garage and stole my bike.

i left it overnight like a dufus and it was stolen. no lock, no trace

Bike rack was loose so I think they just slipped the U-Lock loose.

Simply stashed my bike under the stairwell (unlocked) in our apartment complex side passageway late Friday afternoon thinking I'd be taking it out Friday evening. (The bike should have been invisible from the street as it was toward the back of the passageway.) I ended up not taking it out Friday evening and forgot about it. Went to retrieve it Saturday about noon and it was gone.
