I rode into work Tuesday, June 10 and parked the bike, locked to itself through the front tire and the frame, around 5:15pm. I did not ride in Wednesday, but verified in person that the garage was secure. Thursday evening I went into the garage and discovered that the personal entry door had been forced open (the knob was locked as well as the deadbolt when I left for work). My boyfriend's truck was still in the garage, untouched. The garage door had been left open and the bike was gone.

Bicycle was stolen from inside an apartment. The thief took only change and the bike. The bike is carbon fiber, very light and clearly not a commuter bike. This is Trek's top of the line racing bike and looks it. The rear wheel is a PowerTap and has a unique looking hub. There is also a yellow computer attached to the stem. There are star decals on the top-tube and a "World Bicycle Relief" decal as well.

Our tall privacy fence was recently partially burned, creating an opening to see through. the thieves (may they burn in hell) probably lifted the bike over the burnt area onto a truck. I had U-Lock around frame and bike rack with the cable going through the front wheel. I came outside after work to find the bike gone and the cable lying on the ground. I am not sure how they got the u-lock off. They cut the cable. Looks like they tried twice as there was a partial cut in another place on the cable.
