Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I left my bike at my friends house and we went for pizza. we came back it was gone

Cable was used to lock up this bike, along with a black BMX bike to a bike rack outside of Treasure Island Foods around 9pm. Went to Corcoran's nearby, came back to the bike rack at 11pm and both bikes along with the cable and the lock were gone. Padlock was small, silver, and required a key to be opened; most likely the lock was broken by the thief.

It was leaned up against the glass of my Jimmy John's store while I got a delivery ready. I work on the Gold Coast, so not leaving it locked to itself has never been a problem. But, obviously that was not the case today. Someone just hopped on it and left I'm assuming. No one in the store noticed.

Went to a movie and came out and my bike was gone along with the lock. At the movie theater in front of the amc theater.

Bike was locked up at a rack in Belmont harbor near the docks (Dock D). After returning from being on the lake the bike was missing from the bike rack

Bike locked to bike rack at SEO building on UIC East campus. Bike only present for 0-4 hours.

Locked bike to back stair post 10:15 friday night, gone 5 PM saturday.

The bike was taken from a cage that was locked, and only employees can enter, it is possible to climb the fence. But there is a camera that shows footage of the cage. The bike was locked with a U-lock.

I locked the bike in Wellington St in front of the PNC Bank at a tree right next to the Divy Bike Station. I found just the front tyre still u-locked at the tree and the whole bike missing. The locked had not been broken.

I arrived at the home that I am house sitting, placed my bike on the back side of the house to get their dog, with the intention of only leaving it for less than 5 mins. Moments later, while inside I heard loud talking and I thought "thats weird no TVs are on." Got the dog, went back outside and it was gone. The voices I heard were the thieves. It is a very secluded home and my bike was not visible from the street- which means they must have been watching me? Even worse.

The bike was stolen from the Whirlyball parking lot at 1880 W. Fullerton Ave. I locked my bike to a post that had a metal sign attached at the top, indicating a reserved parking spot. When I came back out, the sign at the top had been removed and the bike lifted off the pole.

Somebody likely walked into an open garage door for a large apartment building. Bike was locked to bike hook on lower-level of garage, next to 3 or 4 other bikes, which were also missing when I noticed mine was gone. I had just brought it into the city 2 weeks prior on the evening of 8/3. Went to use it on 8/17 and it was gone, so it was stolen sometime in that 2 week period.

Someone must have gotten into the building by using a key, and then into the laundry room by using a key. Either somebody left the doors propped open or it was another tenant in the building. They cut off the lock and left the lock hanging.

Bike had just been in a crash earlier on the day it was stolen. I needed to lock it up over night in order to take a taxi to go seek medical attention. The bike was not walkable or rideable, as the front tire had sustained damage and was very out of true. When I returned the next day around 11 am to pick up my bike, I discovered that sometime overnight the lock was cut and the bike stolen.
