Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked with a U-lock to parking pole outside of my apartment. At some point between 9:30pm and 7am, someone uprooted the pole from the ground in order to steal my bike. The bike is a gold hybrid and had a bike rack with a yellow basket attached to it.

My bike was locked to my husband's Cannondale bike in front of the LIncoln Park Zoo. They were locked to each other, to a bike rack. My bike is a hybrid Specialized, royal blue with white flowers. My husband's bike is a road bike, Cannondale, with yellow handlebars. We went to Green City Market for 30 minutes, and when we returned, the bikes were gone.

Stolen in the middle of the night. There have been a number of incidents at this location. My men's Y-11 Trek (V-frame, purple/yellow, with shock absorbers) was stolen from hear last year. Ed note-- may have been self-locked with 'older' U-lock-- unclear from user info

I parked my bike to the rack and went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. By the time I came back to the bike rack around 5:20pm, the bike was gone. The bike rack is surrounded by bushes and I didn't notice any surveillance cameras facing the bike rack. There were 2 bikes to the right of mine when I first parked it there. Both of those bikes were locked with cable locks, and 1 bike to the left of mine (my friend's bike), was locked with U-lock and cable on the seat. When I came back at around 5:20pm, all bikes with cable locks were gone. My friend still had their bike. A larger, rusty, black bike with a rack and rear/front fenders (unlocked) took the place of the 2 bikes that were originally to the right of my parked bike. 3 other bikes (a red Schwinn, a cobalt-blue Schwinn, and another bike of which I forgot the image of) were locked with U-locks to the rack. Because I simply locked it to the bike rack, the cable was most likely cut with a wire cutter and taken away. The right lever doesn't brake, and the left lever brake doesn't release itself from the front wheel after braking so I have to loosen it up after I brake. Whoever ends up riding that bike should be careful and keep track of the rear brake. Because the frame is very plain and solid white, it can very easily be painted over in another color or pattern. The rubber handle grips are also a bit white from sunscreen that I used earlier, so the grips won't be entirely black but more of a darker gray or faded black.

Bike was locked in front of my work, went out to get it two hours later and it was gone, lock cut. Right in front of the window!!

Bike was stolen from a fairly busy area at the South entrance of 933 East 56th Street.

Stored in my garage, unlocked. Hadn't been ridden for ~36 hours before I realized it was missing. My neighbors have been known to leave the garage door wide open, I should have known better. Also stolen was my Trek 5600(? I think?) comfort hybrid with a topeak rack for a baby carrier, However this bike is replaceable and not as heartbreaking as missing my Nishiki.

MY BIKE WAS LOCKED TO MY GIRLFRIEND'S BIKE AROUND A STREET SIGN POLE WITH A U LOCK AND A CABLE. IT WAS LOCATED RIGHT IN FRONT OF AN OUTDOOR SEATING AREA OF A MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON THE CORNER. THE CABLE WAS CUT AND MY BIKE WAS MISSING.

Came home at 3:30 AM, locked my gate as usual, and brought my bike under the porch area. I woke up, and it was gone. My roommate's bike was still there, but it is much more descript, so I believe that's why his didn't get stolen.

The garage was left open and the bike was stolen. It had (but I understand may not have anymore) a woven nantucket basket, a yellow bell on the left hand side, and a light on the front and rear of the bike.

went riding one day, came home, locked my bike in my garage to a bike rack. week or two later i pull into my garage and i see my bike gone and my cut lock laying in corner. filed police report

Bike was stolen from a secure and private condo building garage.

Bike was gone after a 20 minute stop at a friends house. It was locked to an iron gate w a u-lock and was gone when i returned.

I locked my bike up at 3:30 on jackson Street in front of Union Station and took the Metra into the Burbs. I came home at 10pm and my bike and lock were missing from the rack. I purposefully parked next to a Gary Fischer to make my bike less appealing, however, I guess it did not work.

The bike was in the locked laundry room in the basement of my apartment building along with 7 other bikes that were not locked to anything. Since the door to the room requires a building key, I'm assuming whomever took it had a building key. The door to the room had not been tampered with so there was no break in. I'm not sure exactly when it was stolen since the last time I saw it was the last time I did laundry (around 10 days ago).

Left bike locked to front fence overnight and it was gone the next morning.

I am not sure how they stole the bike. I always lock it but I am currently doubting myself whether or not I did. The picture shows how I always lock my bike.

The bike was stolen at some time between 8pm and midnight from the bike rack outside the Chase bank at 200 north wells. Corner of Wells and Eugenie. The lock was cut and taken along with the bike.

New Bike kept in our basement rode Friday dissapear sometime saturday-sunday may 20.
