Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked my bike to the rack at 9:20am at Michigan Ave and Monroe St. When I got out of my office, I did not find the bicycle where I had locked it.

Bike stolen in daytime near busy greenline L stop in bucolic Oak Park amid many other bikes. This is a large bike with clip less pedals, so someone else probably would look a little awkward riding it unless it's a 6' 5" thief. Apparently another bike theft was attempted but they "only" we're able to steal the wheels.. Same day same rack.

I believe the cable was cut and then taken along with the bike.

I had a few subletters at my apartment this summer while I was away for business. My bike was taken by one of the 3 subletters.

My 2012 Cannondale Bad Boy Fatty 9 hybrid bike was stolen. It was locked to a stop sign at the corner of Dayton Rd. & Wisconsin using a u-lock device. The sign was on the SW corner of the intersection. The thieves pulled out the sign in the middle of the night to take the bike. The bike is all black and in new condition. It has Cannondale written in black matte paint on the cross bar. The u-lock was a small orange kryptonite brand lock that still may be attached to the bike.

The bike was between the main building and the detached garage under the stairs. the bike was on a stand up bike rack with cable combo lock that was anchored to the garage wall. The bike was locked through the frame. The cable was cut with metal cutters (which was left on site). this is not visible from the street or the alley. I went to the get the paper this morning and notice our front gate was open and there was a bike on the sidewalk. thought it might be friends of the neighbors. There was also a $1 bill on front stoop. When I went to drive to work and walked out back noticed some wire/metal cutters and then noticed bikes were gone.

Locked outside of the clyborn metra

My bike was locked at the bike rack on the South side of the street in front of the Bryn Mawr red line stop. I'm pretty sure that the lock was cut. There was no lock at the scene and I am very diligent about checking to make sure that my lock is locked to my bike properly. My bike was left there for 3 days (2 nights over night). I had not checked it since I left it Wednesday morning. I immediately noticed it was missing when I came to retrieve it Friday evening after work.

My bike was chained to my boyfriends bike through the frame and tires. His bike was locked with a u-lock and was fine. They cut the chain that held my bike to his secure bike and left the chain next to his bike. Both bikes were locked to a metal pole. The bikes were locked right outside my apartment building which has a bright blue awning that practically lights up the whole area. I've left my bike outside many times before and my neighborhood has seemed safe enough.

I work at a bar, and distinctly remember locking up my bike when I got off work and arrived home around 1:00am. When I woke up for class the next morning and went outside at 7:30am my bike, as well as 1 other belonging to my partner was stolen. There were no marks on the metal fencing that I locked the bike to that would suggest the use of a saw, and the Kryptonite U-lock that I used is not supposed to be able to be cut through.

The bike was locked to a bike rack, along with several other bikes. We came out of the restaurant in front of Wrigley (on Clark and Waveland) and the cable was cut and the bike, gone. The other two bikes were still there.

I had the bike locked in front of my building.

My bike was locked up all day. Some one must have cut the lock or pulled it apart. It was through the front wheel, frame and fence it was attached to. Happened between the hours of 3:30p and 5:15 pm. It is an open area however, under the stairs leading up to the brown line by the merchandise mart. In front of Kinzie Chopehouse.

Bike was hanging in a one-car garage, which was either broken into or accidentally left open for a short period of time.
