Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My fiancé and I have one bike that we both use. She rides it to the Morse red line stop at Lunt every morning to go to school and work. On October 16, she had class 9:20 - 3:35 and work downtown 5:20 - 11:00. She locked the bike up as usual at the bike racks under the awning on Lunt. When she came home that night, the bike and lock were missing from the bike racks at the red line stop. We waited until the next morning when it was lighter to walk back and see if it was overlooked or she parked it elsewhere and forgot. It was not there.

Bike was locked to another bike.

Bike was parked outside of UIC hospital along with several others. Was missing when I left work. No signs of damage to bike rack.

Locked bike to street sign at 6:15 pm, both bike & lock gone when I went back to it at 8pm.

Bike was sitting on back porch of second story (gated yard) apartment and locked to metal window frame. Theft must have occurred when apartment area was empty, and thief cut lock and carried bike down stairs and into back alley.

The bike rack at the building was broken and the bike was snaked off of the rack I believe.

Thief locked his own bike to the post, stole my bike and headed south on Michigan Ave. May have an accomplice. Was seen talking on cel phone prior to theft. He was wearing a light denim vest, gray cap, he was a light skinned black 6' tall, skinny with braids, 160lbs. Another suspect, possible accomplice, white, 5'10" 190lbs seen wearing vest on Monroe leaving scene 5 minutes after theft. Possibly work as a team.

I locked my bike on Northwestern campus at 11:30 am. When I returned at 6:45 pm, it was gone. The lock was missing and there was nothing left at the scene.

Bike was either ridden away down the alley or maybe even a junk truck picked it up.

Bike stolen from locked storage room. 5 bikes stolen at same time. This bike serial unknown, but likely to be found with Trek Hybrid 7200FX Serial #C90H9784 (reported on separate filing).

Bike stolen from common storage room. Bikes were not locked to anything but the room was secured with lock and key, and would require 2 doors/keys to access. Total of 5 bikes stolen at same time. Exact day/time is unknown. Sometime between Oct 11-18, 2013.

Bike was locked with a Kryptonite u-lock to a street sign in front of my apt in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago for 45 minutes between 12:45 am and 1:30 am. When I went downstairs the street sign had been removed and was lying on the ground.

Wife left for work at 5pm and apparently left garage door open (open to Schiller Ave.)... I discovered that the door was open and that the bike was missing. Three other bikes in garage, nothing else taken that we can determine.

My bike was locked in the interior courtyard of my apartment complex near May St and Grand Ave. It was locked to a metal fence, which was cut and bent to free the bike and lock. It looks like the fence was cut with bolt cutters - there is a ridge in the center of the cut, and then kicked out to bend it. All of this must have been done very quietly, as I was up working late only 10-15 ft from the place it was locked.

When I came out to retrieve my bike, it was gone from the rack. There was no sign of it nor the Abus U lock.

Bike was left locked to bike rack at Palatine train station at 7:30am on morning of 10/17. Upon return at 6:00pm, found lock cable cut and bike missing. Other bikes were in the lot and some others with same quality of lock.

Broke into side door, opened garage door and took bikes. Grainy video footage available showed 2-3 men riding bikes out of the garage down the alley towards Addison Street. Four bikes in total were stolen in this garage theft. Besides the Schwinn, the bikes taken were: +Gary Fisher, Small, Dark Blue, Mountain Bike, 14 years old +Trek, hybrid, medium, dark blue, 10 years old +Trek, Hybrid, Dark green, large, Planet Bike front and rear fenders, rear bike rack, 15 years old
