Locked bike up in afternoon on way to work, gone when I got off work. Cable with key lock, the plastic around lock mechanism was cracked, didn't think this was a concern, maybe it was..

Got home from work at about 11 last night, didn't notice it missing from the bike rack until 8 pm this evening

Apartment has a key-locked fence around property, basement is also key-locked. I heard fence rattling around 2:30am, so I believe the thieves scaled the fence, forced open the basement door, and then stole the bike from my storage unit. Several other units were broken into as well.

There were quite a lot of bikes parked in front of 4043 N. Ravenswood on this evening (all of them gone when I came out, but don't know if some others were also stolen). I went into the building at 7:30pm, there were lots of people about (there's a gym and tai-chi studio there that have evening classes) - when I came out at around 10:40 I saw that my bike was gone and the cable was cut cleanly and lying on the ground. It's quite a well-lit and well-trafficked place, and there was a Cubs game that night so there were probably cops around as well - they would have had only a small window of opportunity to pull this off, so I'm frankly amazed that they were able to manage it without being seen.

I had two bikes stolen along with two tool boxes. The other bike is a 2009 Scott CR1 Pro with campi chorus components. The wheelset is fulcrum 2-way fit and hutison tires. I have to think that my place was scoped out. Hard to say but other things were left I have photos but can't load them from my phone

Bike was locked to black fence in front of apartment building near intersection of Iowa and Wolcott, to the thicker top rail with a newer u-lock w/flat key. Top rail was cut straight through.

Rode my bike to the cubs game, locked it up on Waveland and Clark across from the firehouse, came back after the game and it was gone. The lock was cut and hanging there. I walked home thinking about the scum sucker that stole my awesome bike, but then thought about how my life is awesome and their life is about scavenging on bikes, car stereos, whatever isn't theirs. Oh well, karma will get yo ass in time foo

My bike was locked by looping the cable through two small bmx bikes' frames and around the metal pipe railing. The railing is part of the building my friend Mark lives in. My bike was left there this morning because Mark's landlord told him they couldn't be in the apartment. The neighbor says she saw it there when she came home for lunch at noon. When I got home at 7pm all three bikes were gone.

Parked and locked bike at fullerton red line station in the morning and when I came back from work, the bike and lock were gone. This was a brand new bike.

Bike had 3 sets of locks: locking skewers on front and back tire; kryptonite wire lock around back tire and looped through kryptonite u lock (newer, flat key) which was locked around bike frame and bike rack. The wire lock was cut and the u lock was defeated (picked), but left unharmed.

My bicycle was locked to a street sign and I believe the U-lock was cut overnight. It was in excellent condition (newly tuned w/ new bike seat and rear gear shaft/wheel) at the time of theft. My guess is it was scouted before stolen. *DISCLAIMER: The bike in the attached photo is not my bike, but the men's fram. This is the exact frame/color of my bike. My bike had a women's frame.

a neighbor left the garage door open. someone came in around 7-8am and stole the bike.

Came out of work and it was gone, a bike was in place of mine where I had locked it, kryptonite lock failed

My Beloved HR Comp had a rear flat tire & the thief switched it out with a different rear wheel & tire. The Theft was capture on tape with the bike being walked out of the building in the wee hours of the night!!

Theft of the bike was caught on tape of the culprits leaving the building around 4 AM.

The bike was locked safely for approximately two hours starting at 12:45 pm. I checked on it around 2:30 when I went to rent a bike with a friend from Bobby's Bike Hike. The bike was gone when we returned about 10 min. later.

Garage was burglarized and only this bike (not the two old bikes next to it) and a lawn mower were taken. The bike wasn't locked because it was in a locked garage. The thieves came in through the window.

The bike was locked to a rack in a very public and busy area outside a museum. Other bikes were locked to the rack, there were alot of people in the area as it was Friday night. This looked like a very professional job.

Went to Chicago Bluesfest. Locked my bike on a bike rack along with my boyfriend's bike (bikes were locked on the same cable). The lock was cut, my bike was taken but not his bike. The lock was left cut around his bike. This happend sometime between 4:20 pm and 7:45 pm.
