Incident Description:
I left my office next to the Merchandise Mart at 6PM on Friday June 17th. My bike was locked via a cable lock through the front wheel and frame to the bike racks on N Orleans street next to the Merchandise Mart. When I arrived, my bike was missing with no evidence left at the scene. I immediately spoke to the security team at the Merchandise Mart and was able to find video footage on their cameras of me arriving to work in the morning, parking the bike, then at 5:31PM a man rides a bicycle heading south and stops next to my bike. He locked his bike up, then pulled cutters out of a white cloth bag, cut my lock, jumped on my bike and continued riding south on N. Orleans street before heading out of site over the bridge. He was wearing a white bike helmet, black tshirt, dark pants, tennis shoes, and was not very coordinated, as he was wobbling all over the place as he rode away.
The thief left his bicycle at the scene, locked up. I stayed around for a few hours but he never returned to retrieve it yet. I figured he will come back for it since he locked it up.
I was able to snap some photos of him form the security footage, though they are not clear enough to see a face.
