Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

STOLEN SURLY FARLEY. If you see this bike, please respond to this post. I was away on a trip, arriving today at 2AM. Got home, and this bike was missing. It was locked to another bike under the stairs of my small condo building. They stole the Farley but not the Surly Steamroller, which had the U-lock around the rear triangle/rear wheel... so they cut the cable and took the fat bike. It is unique looking. If you see it, say something.

Woke up in the morning to my bike missing off of my back porch on the third floor, which is enclosed by a wooden gate

On 02/28/23 at 5:30pm my two bicycles were stored in the bike room of my apartment building (Everett Hyde Park, 5454 S. Everett Ave) with their wheels locked up as normal. Each bike had a headlight, tail-light, hand-pump, helmet and saddlebag attached to the frame. At 10:47am on 03/01/23 I received an email from our property manager stating “Hello 5454 S Everett Tenants. I am sorry to announce that there was a break in of the bike room early this morning. I am having the bike room door window replaced and the front door latch guard replaced”. When I got home at 5:30pm on 03/01/23, I went to the bike room and found my bikes and equipment stolen. Our apartment building has a locked lobby/entryway and off of this entryway is the bike room. The landlord implied that the perpetrator broke the latch of the front door, and then broke the window of the bike room door. With the bike room window broken, they could reach through and unlock the door.

The bike was in my garage at home. Someone broke in and took it.

Bike was locked to wooden porch panels in my apartment backyard. Visibility is low into backyard, but we are off an alley entrance. Suspect must have jumped the fence and removed wooden paneling that the bike was locked to and removed the bike from the premises.

Someone broke into my garage and stole multiple bike by cutting the locks

It was stolen outside Ema restaurant on Clark street. There was a white truck nearby the restaurant with two guys standing outside that looked like it could fit a bike. I do not have the license plate number, unfortunately.

I rode my bike for an appointment at the hospital at 2:10 on Feb 23rd. I locked it (small abus folding lock) up right outside the Chicago Ave entrance. I was in the hospital for about an hour and when I came out my bike was gone (lock and everything). I circled the block several times to make sure that I hadn't missed it, but concluded that it had been stolen while I was in my appointment.

Bike was locked up at 10am, and not discovered to be missing until 7pm.

Locked it up, they cut the street sign and hoisted it over the top. I got home from class and forgot to take it in (I have to take public transit to class, otherwise I would have biked). Went to commute to work the next morning, and it was gone. Photo is from google images, I never took a picture of myself with it unfortunately. If you hear anything, I will be eternally grateful.

A man cased my bike for about 15 minutes outside of Gilt Bar and the Donut Vault in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Using a hand saw he cut the folding abus granite lock that was locked around the bikes frame and front tire. After about a minute the lock failed. He put the broken lock in his bag and rode off with the bike north on Franklin street.

The bike was stolen on Friday, Feb. 3rd between the hours of 8:30pm and 10:00pm on the intersection of Maple St. and Noyes St. in Evanston. One U-lock secured the frame to the bike rack, while the other U-lock secured the front wheel to the bike rack. It was very cold that night, so not many people were walking the streets. The bike and both locks were taken.
