Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Newer U-Lock was cut and bike was stolen from Addison Blue Line stop. Locked on a rack on the sidewalk amoungst several bikes. Front tire was locked to bike with another U-Lock. Bike modifed with drop down handlebars.

Bike was removed from a locked garage. Admin note 9/30/17- the victim wrote in today: Good news, my bike has been recovered! It had been pawned for $30, and the pawn shop owner found the serial number in the police system.

Garage popped open. Incident seen on camera. Shortly thereafter bike was stolen.

Bike was locked in truck of car - car rear window had been smashed and bike was stolen, along with racing Zipp 404 wheel set.

I locked up the bike next to Merchandise Mart Plaza at 08:45 AM in the morning. I never left the building and spent the whole day in the building. When I was out at 6 PM, the bike was gone.

Locked folding bike seat and frame to bike rack outside Sharp building at SAIC. Had to drop off paperwork. Accidentally left key in lock, realized it after going into building. 3 minutes had passed, but bike was gone.

Thief broke into garage by crawling through outside vent then opened garage door from inside. Bike was kept in the garage.

My garage door was opened and my bike was gone

I lock my old Fuji to my daughter's bike nine times out of ten using an Abis folding lock. This time.. I dunno. We were gone for a week. When I came home it was the first thing I noticed. No bicycle.

Bike was inside of house. Packages have recently been stolen consistently from the the porch. Guessing someone saw the bike locked in the house through the window when doing so, and probably kept trying the door over time. It was unlocked (Left door unlocked for about 20 minutes so my girlfriend could come inside when she was coming over) and they got lucky. I was home at the time and this was the middle of the day.

Bike was in a locked garage. My bike was stolen, but 2 other bikes remained in the garage. My helmet and U-lock had been hooked onto the handle bars, and both the helmet and U-lock were left in the garage, placed on a moving box in the garage, but bike was gone.

I believe I left my garage door open overnight. Someone came in and took my bike off the wall. I hadn't locked it. Other items of value in the garage were untouched.

My apartment has both a gate to get into the back yard and the storage room is locked. There are a number of bikes in the room, all unlocked. This was the one night I didn't lock mine up, and it was the only one taken.

My bike was located on our back deck. Unfortunately, it was not locked up. I considered taking it this morning but decided to drive instead. When I got home a few hours later it was gone.

My bike was locked with a u lock and cable for both wheels to a street sign. The thieves pulled out the street sign and left with the locked up bike. The pic posted is from the internet, as I didn't have a pic of my personal bike. Thanks for your help.

Another bike locked to the same street sign was also stolen - the sign was solid when we locked up. Sign was unbolted overnight, both of our U-locks were stolen too.
