Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was hanging on a rack in our garage. Garage door must have malfunctioned or someone was able to open it because the bike was gone within a couple of hours period.

Bike along with lock was stolen. The bike is mostly black with white and gold writing on the frame. The sit is black and white with streaks of blue ribbed off from my jeans. The lock was orange and gray.

I'm not sure what happened. I was at work and the last time I saw the bike was a little after 9 am. I left work at 12:50 pm.

Taken out of garage

The bike was left locked with U-Lock and cable outside of my apartment building on Milwaukee Avenue. I notice it was completely gone on July 4th at around 11:00 pm. They must have taken the lock as well and there were not metal filings on the ground.

NOTE: the photo included is not my exact bike, it is one I found on google images. I've provided a detailed description above of some very distinguishing features. I was working, walking a dog with a friend. We'd both locked our bikes to the bike rack. When we were done, I took the dog back inside and my friend unlocked her bike and left. When I emerged from the building approximately ten minutes later, my bike was gone. My u lock was left on the ground, the two pieces disconnected, but had not taken any noticeable damage. It still appears to be working. Both my friend and I distinctly remember me tugging on my lock to check it before leaving my bike unattended. She does not recall seeing anything amiss with my bike or lock. I'm a little baffled by it all. I really loved that bike, too. We'd been through a lot in a short time.

Garage door was left open for about an hour. I have camera footage of the theft however it is 5MB so I am unable to upload. He was a black Male about ~6 ft ~200 lb. wearing dark shorts, white shoes, a blue/red lettering "Cubs; Ramirez 16" t-shirt, and a tan hat. The thief seems to have jumped over the side railings or avoided the camera as he came down the driveway then entered the garage and all the camera catches is his back walking away from the garage. The video clearly shows this was on Monday June 18th at 1:51PM.

The bike & U-lock are missing; it was there when I left for work and was gone after I returned from work.

I have no idea how someone could get this bike.

Bike was cut from chain-link fence in back yard at alley entrance (newer u-lock w/flat key).

Went into the gym for an hour. Bike was locked up in front of the Xsport facility in daylight. Came out and bike was gone.

Locked bike up to a lamp post and was gone for ~30 minutes. Security footage shows a large black male walking up to the bike, breaking though the lock in 5-10 seconds and riding off with the bike.

In a locked and secure area of an apartment building with security camera's on the bike rack and building entrance. Thief scaled fence by entering from the adjoining building along the rear perimeter.

I saw the guy that stole my bike from the security recording of the building. The bike was in a corridor behind the sacristy of St. Helen's Church. At the end of the mass he went out from the church using a private door that leads at that corridor and he stole the bike. I saw him in the recording going out and heading to Humboldt park. He was a Latino. He had a blue backpack, white shirt and long trousers. He was taller than me (I'm 174 cm). If you recognise the bike please call the police or me. Thank you for your help. Andrea

No idea. Picked up soem groceries, came back, made breakfast, worked for a few hours, walked outside and the bike was gone, lock laying snipped next to the pole it was locked to.

The bike was left locked to the bike rack at the Morton Grove Metra station at 8:30am. When I came back from work it was not there.

My bike was stolen from a locked storage unit last Friday night/Saturday morning. Unfortunately, I didn't find out till Sunday that it had been broken into. The police were called Sunday afternoon which is when the report was filled out. Our 12 unit building has two entrances with an outer door at each, which occasionally is not closed completely, and a basement door which I had thought was locked on both sides but apparently is never locked on the other side and I have found unlocked on my side. The locks were cut on about 5 storage units (the locks were taken as well) and my unit was the only storage unit that had something stolen out of it. I had another bike stolen out of this same building 3 years ago.

I went in to work and saw my bike locked up from the night before at 8:30am. By 10:30am, the bike was gone. The doorman didn't see anything.

I was out of town, this could have been stolen any time in a 8 day period. Bike was locked to itself with a kryptonite U lock. I used a steel cable to wrap around a wooden pole holding up a deck/fire escape, that cable was locked into the U-lock. That cable also looped through my GF's bike, 'locking' them both to the pole. Her bike and 6 others stored in this location were not stolen. Sadly this location is in full view of a heavily trafficked alley, and residents in my building often forget to lock the gate. I can only assume someone had cased the bike, came late at night, the gate was unlocked, cut the wimpy cable, walked off with the bike to work on the U-lock at their leisure.
